Isabella glared at Avery. "I never thought you'd do something like this, Avery."
A hint of guilt flashed across Avery's eyes, but it was quickly replaced by another emotion. "Isabella, I have nothing to do with this. Tyler was already sick to begin with… You knew that too, didn't you?"
"I'm guessing you read my notes without me knowing?" Isabella asked coldly.
It was a question, but her tone signaled to everyone she knew the answer.
Avery decided to continue playing dumb. "I have no idea what you're talking about! The only reason I'm here is 'cause Tyler asked for my help… In fact, I'm the most innocent party in all of this."
Avery instantly knew Tyler was only using her since he did not do anything after Vicky slapped her. Thus, it would be hopeless to think he would make Vicky pay for what she did.
Tyler frowned when he heard what Avery said.
"What are you two talking about?" he asked.
"Haven't you realized yet? Vicky betraying you and shooting you with a gun is just part of a false memory. Your memory is all jumbled, causing you to mix up everything. Everything you thought happened didn't happen at all.
"Vicky never shot at you. In fact, the gun wound on your chest was from the time when you were trying to save Vicky and Lincoln shot at you. If you don't believe me, have a doctor check on your wound, and he'll tell you exactly when you got it," explained Harvey.
Isabella ignored Avery and shifted her attention to Tyler.
She looked sympathetically at him. "Mister Hart, Mister Sparks is right. Missus Hart has been working round the clock to find a cure for your sickness. The reason she came here today was because Mister Sparks knew some very talented psychiatrists, and she brought me along to explore possible solutions for your problem. Currently, the psychiatrists I've mentioned are still inside the mansion."
Tyler looked at Vicky.
Her face was riddled with exhaustion, which was made worse by how severely underweight she was. Even though she was wearing a scarf on her neck, Tyler could still vaguely see the bruises and bite marks on it.
"I…I…did that?"
"Who else but you? You'd hurt her whenever you mistakenly thought she betrayed you, and this happens quite often. Yet, she never once blames you. Instead, she'd patiently comfort you until you calm down."
Sometimes, Tyler would wake up from his confusion very quickly and feel remorseful for hurting Vicky. Thus, no matter how resistant he was to the idea of getting treatment, he still agreed to it because he was determined not to hurt Vicky anymore.
Alas, the treatment did not work.
