Tyler gazed into Vicky's quivering eyes. "You lied to me, Vicky. And you know what's worse? Is that you did it for Harvey. But do you really think you can keep all the men in the world in the palm of your hand?"
Vicky looked at him tiredly. "I've told you to stop seeing Avery, so why do you still…"
"Why should I listen to you?" cut in Tyler.
Avery's expression immediately changed. She grabbed Tyler's arm possessively.
"Just how shameless can you be, Vicky? You have no right to say who Tyler gets to see—not when you're cheating on him with Harvey! You're the most shameless woman I've ever met in my life!" she said shrilly.
"That's enough!" Harvey was at the end of his patience. "Tyler, wake up! Vicky didn't elope with me. The reason she's here today is because you're sick! She's been trying to find you a cure all this while. You must be blind if you can't see how thin she's become because of you!"
Tyler smirked. "Are you sure it's because of me? Why do I get the feeling it's because she knew what she was doing was wrong and the guilt and stress must've got to her?"
Harvey was speechless. He could not believe just how out of touch with reality Tyler could be. It took him a while to finally find his voice.
"Tyler, have you forgotten what you've promised Vicky? You should know Avery is up to no good!"
"What right do you have for accusing me of going back on my words when you and Vicky are the traitors here? I must say, this is the most double standard thing I've ever come across in my life," replied Tyler mockingly.
He suddenly pulled Avery closer to him, despite him having to suppress the disgust he felt toward her.
"Avery's right. She's my woman from now on." He looked down condescendingly at Vicky. "As for the divorce papers, I've already signed them. The only thing you need to do now is to come home with me to wrap up the divorce procedures. Then, you can live happily ever after with the love of your life."
Vicky suddenly burst out in tears, stunning Tyler.
"Ah!" The force of the impact was so strong that it caused Avery to fall to the ground.
"Vicky Shaw, you b*tch! How dare you hit me?" said Avery angrily. She covered her painfully swollen cheek with her hand. "Kill her, Tyler! Kill this sl*t! Just think of how many times she cheated on you with Harvey!"
Tyler ignored her. He looked at Vicky with an indecipherable expression in his eyes instead.
Avery was about to continue fueling the flames when someone walked out of the mansion.
"Avery, I'm really disappointed in you." The woman looked down at Avery, who was still on the ground, with disgust. "The existence of a doctor in this world is to help the sick. How can you break the Hippocratic oath in your selfishness? You should be ashamed to call yourself a doctor."
Avery looked at the woman dazedly. "I—Isabella?"
