Vicky clenched her fists and said, "Because of the scandal some time ago, we had no choice but to put up an act for the public's eyes."

"An act? The two of you went shopping for rings and had a date, didn't you?"

She lowered her gaze at the ring in her hand, tears welling in her eyes. "I will throw the ring away. I won't see him again."
