As soon as the words came out of her, her cheeks suddenly blushed.

When she said this, it seemed as though she had acceded to his massage.

“There’s no need. It’ll be fine after a while…”

Duke did not let her finish her sentence. He just took out her other leg in firm yet gentle

movements.

His palms were very warm, and his fingertips had thin calluses. He gently rubbed her calf, and the spasms gradually dissipated.

“Do you often get cramps?” Duke asked softly as he rubbed her gently.

Adeena pulled her leg back and hid it under the quilt. She calmly said, “I’ve been having cramps from time to time for the past few years. It’s not a big deal.”

Duke’s voice was a little somber, “How did you get this ailment?”

The person he sent to investigate the matter had done a thorough check, but he only found out about what happened to her over the past three years. There was a one–year gap that was completely missing.

Moreover, she seemed to only remember what happened over the past three years.

“This was a side effect left from a surgery I had,” Adeena said lightly, “Mr. Winters, may I trouble you to leave the room first? I’d like to get dressed.”

Duke’s eyes darkened.

‘Surgery…‘

Why had he not found out that she had surgery three years ago?

He had checked all the hospitals in Cloud City, and there were no records of her surgery. Either she remembered it wrong, or the surgical record was erased by someone.

‘Why would they want to erase her surgical record?‘

Duke’s eyes were deep, like back ink.

“Mr. Winters?” Adeena called softly.

‘Why does it feel like this man loves me?‘

She must be under some sort of spell.

Adeena quickly put on her clothes, which fit her perfectly, as though it was tailor–made for her.

She put on her shoes, opened the door, and walked out of the bedroom.

From this angle, she could see the corner of the dining room. Duke was sitting at the dining table with the four children, and the housekeeper was attending to him.

The family of five created a heartwarming picture.

She felt an urge to rush over and join them…

Adeena pursed her lips and walked down the stairs slowly.

“Aunt Deena, you look so beautiful in that dress!” Harold’s mouth must be covered in honey because sweet words kept pouring out. “This pink dress makes you look particularly radiant. You’re even more beautiful than the female celebrities on TV. I have many more of these dresses in my room, you can take them all home with you!”

Adeena could not handle his gregariousness and laughed dryly, “No, no, this dress is fine…”
