Orabelle spent the rest of her day in the room, dreading her situation and reading the books that she took form Haestus' office. She was trying her best to distract herself from thinking too much about him.

Her feelings were steadily growing for him which scared and perplexed her. It had never happened with her before. It took more for her to feel attracted to a man. Haestus didn't need to put much effort into sowing seeds of desire in her for him. A part of her hated him for this.

Meanwhile, Haestus left the wing for work. This time he made sure that the door was well locked. The incident was replaying all the time in his head. Her words hurt him more than she could ever imagine. It pained him. He felt disgusted with himself.

Several times that day he bit back the urge to go to her and apologize but something in him told him that Orabelle won't forgive him so easily. To her, actions mattered more than words- a fact that Haestus was slowly uncovering.

He just wanted to let her know that he was doing everything he could to find Kiara and also, he was collecting the courage and audacity to be able to present Orabelle in front of the whole council without being haunted by the fear of being banished.

It was around sunset when he decided to go out for a run and let his wolf out. He wanted to be in control when he was around Orabelle. It seemed to him that the impression he had on her already wasn't very good. The last thing he wanted was to let his needy wolf out when he was around her.

It was dark when he entered his wing through the back door. He went to his room and bathed before dressing up in a pair of trousers and a shirt. After that, he thought of checking up on her but soon, let the idea drop. He reminded himself that he needed to give her some time and space. They sure were mates and they were destined to be together but, when? He didn't know but also, he didn't want to do anything that would delay the best part of their mate-ship. Good things came with patience, he thought to himself.

He ended up going to his office and worked for a few hours. He had already ordered the chef to make something good for dinner. He wanted to make up to her. He was ready to do anything to prove it to her that they were mates and he respected and loved her as his woman. He'd cherish her with all the happiness if she ever let him.

He sighed at his thoughts before he finished his work and decided to go to Orabelle's room to invite her for dinner. He soon found himself in front of her room, knocking her door.

He knocked again when she didn't answer the door at his first knock.

"Orabelle?" He called gently and waited. He knocked again and this time, Orabelle opened the door angrily.

"What?" She blew on his face.

"Orabelle, dinner's read-" Before he could finish speaking, his eyes blackened and his voice deepened. His body stiffened and to stop himself from falling, he clutched the door frame so tightly that a crack appeared on it.

Orabelle stepped back at his sudden reflexes and watched him with a tinge of fear and perplexity. A low growl rumbled in his chest. She watched him in horror as an inhumane expression climbed on his face.

A gasp left Orabelle's lips when she realized what was happening- he was having a vision. She was perplexed for some moments. She didn't know what she was supposed to do. He looked in pain as he squeezed his eyes shut and winced.

A part of her ached to reach out to him and help him but she was too shocked to act.

Meanwhile, Haestus was taken far from reality. His head throbbed with so much pain that it seemed like his skull would crack open soon. He wanted to scream in pain but his voice seemed to have died. His vision had blackened. His ears were ringing and his lungs failed to accommodate oxygen in the.

He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. Suddenly, everything stopped. The vision had finally started to play.

He saw himself standing on Orabelle's door. He raised his hand to knock on her door but soon, dropped it and started walking backward. It seemed like time was rewinding itself.

He walked backwards to his office before the door opened itself and he walked in backwards and closed the door the same way he opened it. He walked backwards to his chair before sitting on it and picking up the same paper he had been working on earlier in the evening.

He picked up the pen where he had left and started writing on the paper but only this time, he started on the last word that was written on the paper. His pen ran over the already written words, sucking the ink and words back into it and leaving nothing but a blank space.

Suddenly, it stopped. There was a little glitch before everything resumed. Time had stopped going back. It was now going forward as Haestus' pen wrote words on paper instead of sucking them back into it.
