Corey's POV
My mind was reeling from the evening's events, but I kept trying to push it away. I needed to focus on something else right now, or else I was going to break down, so I focused on Hayden.
I knew the gunshot to his leg wasn't bad, but I still felt better knowing that Timmy was on his way here to have a look at the wound himself.
As the thought of the young doctor popped into my mind, I quickly glanced at Hayden's friend, Randy. It didn't take a genius to know how the man felt about the doctor and I ducked my head to hide the smile I could feel tugging at my lips.
Hayden was up to something, I could see it in the small smirk he has on his mouth. I also knew it had something to do with Randy and Timmy, and I was very interested to see what happened.
I had seriously never met two people more stubborn or hellbent on denying any type of feelings, even if those same feelings were loud enough to scream at everyone else around them.
Right now we were sitting in the lounge, waiting for Timmy to come and have a look at Hayden's leg. He should be here any minute and I could see how impatient Randy was becoming. He was tapping his fingers against his leg and bouncing his leg up and down.
The minute the doorbell rang, he jumped up and practically ran to the door. I tried to stifle the giggle that was trying to bubble up my throat, but a small burst of it popped out of my mouth, before I clamped my hands over it.
I sheepishly looked up at Hayden, only to see his eyes sparkling with amusement, so I let out a breath of relief and dropped my hands, smiling at him.
"This should be interesting." He mumbled, just before Randy came walking back inside, with Timmy right on his heels.
I watched as Timmy kept peeking at Randy from under his lashes and I had to quickly duck my head to hide my smile again. I don't think Randy would appreciate the humor in the situation.
"Can I get you anything to drink, Timmy?" Randy asked and the young doctor smiled as he nodded in agreement.
"Some water would be great, thanks." He replied quietly.
As soon as Randy left the lounge, Timmy stepped closer to us. "So what happened this time? I swear, you two need to come with a health hazard warning or something." He muttered exasperated.
I could understand his sentiment, because he had to already treat me for my injuries and now it was Hayden.
Hayden laughed as he sat down on the couch. "I was shot in the leg, Doc. Corey has cleaned and covered it, but I wanted to make sure it won't get infected or cause any more trouble, and maybe some stitches if it's needed." Timmy nodded as he listened to Hayden, then he pointed to Hayden's legs.
"I'm going to have to ask you to remove your pants so I can see your leg." It was said in such a matter-of-fact way, but Timmy's cheeks heated up to a bright red and I could feel the jealousy spike within myself, even though I tried to push it down.
Hayden got back up again, and was just about to unbutton his jeans, when Randy came walking back in with Timmy's water. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" He gritted out between clenched teeth.
Timmy looked startled for a second, before his cheeks blushed even more, even though he now also looked slightly annoyed. "Calm your tits Randy, I need to see his leg and I can't exactly do that if he's wearing fucking denim, now can I?" He asked, his tone of voice not lost on the two Dom's in the room.
Hayden's head snapped in Randy's direction and I just stood there, jaw dropped wide open. I would never talk to Randy like that, he looked very strict and cold and I don't think he tolerated someone talking to him like that.
"Excuse me?" Randy asked in a low, quiet voice, which sent chills down my spine. He really wasn't happy right now.
"Oh get over it Randy, you aren't my Master, so keep that shit to yourself." Timmy's voice was now tight and very defensive, but I also saw the haunted look in his eyes and I could feel my own heart hurting for him. I've always had to deal with feeling too much, even when it didn't affect me at all and sometimes it was a bit of a curse.
I expected Randy to snap at Timmy and I saw Hayden's back tense up, so I knew that he expected it as well, but what we got instead, left us both shocked. I might not know Randy, but I knew his reaction to Timmy's words, were not the norm for the beautifully cold man.
"I apologize Timmy, of course you are only trying to do your job." He said softly and his voice was warm and soothing, instead of the usual cold and clipped tone.
Timmy blushed as well and stepped closer to Randy, before quickly hugging the big Dom around the waist. We could just make out the whispered thank you from the doctor, before he stepped back and faced us again.
"Let's get started then, shall we?" He asked as he kept his face completely blank. I had to admire his control over his facial expressions. I would be bright red and absolutely mortified at that moment, but he just looked calm and composed.
Hayden was just about to go back to opening his jeans again, when he had a blanket thrown at him. I saw it was the one that was over the back of one of the couches earlier and I felt a lot better about the whole situation.
I saw Hayden roll his eyes, but he still covered his bottom half with the blanket as he pulled his jeans off, before he sat down.
He opened the blanket just enough to expose his bandaged thigh and Timmy stepped closer.
He went into doctor mode as he pulled the bandages off gently, before he examined the wound. I saw Hayden's muscles tense as Timmy poked at the edge of the wound. I looked up at him and his lips were pulled tight in a grimace, so I held my hand out to him.
He grabbed it, but held it very gently as he smiled at me and mouthed thank you. I knew I wasn't really helping physically, but maybe I was helping him mentally? I shook my head at myself. I must really be tired if my mind was wondering off into all these strange little thoughts.
"It actually looks really good, but I'm going to clean it up again, just to make sure it is completely clean, then I'm going to close it back up. It should heal without any problems, as long as you rest your leg and no strenuous activity." He glanced over at me as he said the last part and I was confused at first, but then I realized what he was talking about and my face went an immediate bright red.
Hayden smirked at my reaction, and I ducked my head down into his chest, causing him to burst out laughing, the vibration from his chuckles tickling my cheek and making my face feel even more heated.
"Thank you for coming out tonight, Timmy." Hayden said as he held his hand out and shook the doctor's much smaller one. I quickly glanced up at Randy and saw him shooting daggers at Hayden's hand and I hid my smile in Hayden's chest.
I snuggled against Hayden as I thought of the enigmatic relationship between Randy and Timmy. I was both intrigued as well as very confused by the relationship between the two of them. Randy obviously really liked Timmy, yet he pretended he didn't. Then there was Timmy, who also seemed to really like Randy, but he seemed wary of the big Dom. Not scared, per se, but definitely protecting himself.
Something happened to the young doctor, and by the looks of things, Randy knew what it was and was keeping himself back because of it.
My mind started feeling fuzzy from exhaustion, so I just hoped that the two of them will be able to work past whatever was holding them back from each other, and then left my mind to fade out.
