Inside a car headed toward an affluent part of Glanchester.

Janine and Matthew were seated together in the back row.

Jake was in the passenger seat up front. He kept turning his head around and angrily voicing his complaint about how Sherry barely acknowledged him in front of Carl.

“You wouldn’t believe how arrogant she was! How dare she think that she can humiliate us like that?!” The more Jake thought about it, the angrier he became as he roared. angrily. “You two really shouldn’t have taken her back all those years ago, she’s an ungrateful scum! She’ll never learn!”

Matthew reacted dully, his eyes closed the entire time.
