Chapter 1833

Liam sat like a statue in the backseat there was a sharp glare in his eyes that made it seem like he was in a bad mood.

Caprice was cautious of sitting too close to him.

At some point during the ride, when she noticed that Liam’s expression was still as gloomy as when she entered, she muttered weakly, “Liam, I’m sorry.”

Liam looked at her with a puzzled expression. “What are you apologizing for?”

She answered frightfully, “I didn’t know that you were waiting for me. I thought you already left for work. I should have left with you, so you wouldn’t have to spend time waiting for me.”

She figured that the reason he was upset was that he had been stewing in the car, waiting for her.

Liam grimaced, and several deep creases formed on his forehead. He entered into a somber silence.

Caprice took this silence to mean that her concerns were true. She had made Liam upset because she had been dilly-dallying. She sat stiffly and spent the remainder of the ride in silence.

Soon, the car stopped in front of Sparkrow University dormitory.

“See you, Liam,” she blurted out before scuttling out of the car like a thief.

Liam silently watched her as she retreated into the safety of her dorm, and he frowned.

What happened to the Caprice in the past? She used to be so excited to see him and affectionate with him! Why would she refuse the offer to intern for him? Why was she so eager to get away from him?

Caprice went around the corner, up the stairway, and vanished out of sight.

Liam vented his frustration at the driver. “Drive!”

The driver stomped on the gas pedal, afraid of his wrath.

The finals were coming up.

Moses!

Where had she heard the name before?

Piper exclaimed, “Moses? Moses Stewart? The one who’s been voted as the most attractive man on campus for four years in a row?”

Freya contained the excitement in her shrill voice as best as she could. “It’s him! But he just graduated this year, so we’re going to have to see who his replacement will be going forward.” In the middle of their exchange, Moses walked out of a shop lot and approached Caprice.

“Hey, Caprice, I’m Moses Stewart, nice to meet you.” He smiled and held out his hand to Caprice. He carried himself with such formality that it looked like he was trying to make his best impression as a businessman. It was sort of humorous.

Caprice suppressed a smile and gently shook his hands while asking politely, “Hi there, senior. Do you need something from me?”

He smiled and remarked, “I was going to look for you a few days ago, but I know you were busy with the finals, so I figured I shouldn’t bother you. What a nice coincidence meeting you here! It must be fate.”

He paused dramatically to swipe careful glances at Freya, Piper, and Lana before turning back to Caprice. “My friend owns that dessert cafe over there. I’ll treat you girls to something nice while we chat.”
