Kimberly felt goosebumps all over her body as she drove into the Naval Base. She was really nervous about seeing Ian after such a long time. She couldn’t help but wonder if he has lost weight, she prays he’s well and okay.
After spending twenty minutes looking for a spot to park her car in an already full parking lot, Kimberly luckily found a spot and parked her car.
Coming out of her car, Kimberly couldn’t help but stare at the families who had already reunited and we’re heading back home.
She could see the genuine happiness radiating from the soldiers and their loved ones. She sight brought tears to her eyes. She quickly tore her eyes away from the scene, wiping a stray tear from her face. She locked the door to her car and headed for the harbor where the ship was, as she didn’t want to keep her fiancé waiting.
On getting to the harbor, Kimberly squeezed her way through the, nervous, anxious, impatient and overjoyed crowd, murmuring her apologies as she tried to get to the front.
She got to the front and eagerly waited like the rest of the crowd as the soldiers came out of the large ship one after another, her eyes not leaving not leaving the ship.
She was already getting impatient as she was getting cranky from not yet getting some sleep, then she noticed a six feet two inches guy, looking more muscular than the last time. He was breathtaking in his Naval uniform.
Kimberly watched as his eyed searched for something or rather someone who she’s a hundred percent certain was her. She couldn’t help but smile at that, knowing he was eager to see her as she was to see him.
As if on cue, his eyes found hers, making her heart skip a bit. It was like the whole world stopped as she stared at the love of her life, the man whose absence gave her sleepless nights.
They do Skype, but it’s nothing compared to him being with her in person.
This is the man she fell in love with three years ago, whose voice intoxicated her, whose touch made her dizzy with pleasure, who is now staring at her with a broad smile plastered on his face.
Kimberly let her heart take the lead, as she ran to meet him, excitedly jumping on him, causing him to almost lose his balance.
He immediately captured her lips with his, wrapping his arms around her waist as they shared a passionate kiss.
She had missed the taste of his tongue on hers and the warmth his presence brought.
She cupped his cheeks in her hands as they kissed, to feel him more because she was still finding it hard to believe that he was here with her, holding her securely in his arms.
They finally parted from the kiss after what felt like forever. Both breathing heavily as they gazed into each other’s eyes.
Gosh! Has she missed those beautiful blue eyes that stole her heart.
“I love it.” He complimented, making Kimberly smile.
“Thanks.” She replied, internally glad that she had been too occupied and couldn’t go get her hair trimmed, as it now reached her lower back.
They walked to the car in a comfortable silence. Kimberly unlocked the trunk of the car so Ian could put his suitcase in before he got into the car.
“Here, I got it for you on my way here.” Kimberly said, handing him a package.
Ian had a wide grin on his face as he opened it.
“Did I mention how much I love you.” He asked, giving her a kiss on the cheek, making her roll her eyes.
“I know, right?” She replied, noticing that he had already started munching on the ham burger, fried and fried chicken she got for him.
They both shared their experiences and events that happened during each other’s absence, as Kimberly drove them to Ian’s house.
