“Alpha, they are here.” Donald announced, gaining Hugh’s attention as he was pretty deep in thoughts.
Hugh could already perceive their scents, but the one he yearned for was missing, making his wolf feel on edge.
“Bring them in.” he finally replied and in a matter of seconds they were making their way into his office.
“You surprised me, cousin. I thought you were going to bring your whole army… I guess I underestimated you.” He mocked, his brown orbs glaring at Roy’s grey ones.
“We are here to talk, not fight.” Alan said, putting an end to the glaring contest between the two Alphas.
“Where is she?” Hugh asked, trying his best to sound calm but was failing terribly.
“You crossed my territory and killed two of my own. That was out of line, Hugh.” Roy hissed, still angered by what Hugh did.
Roy wasn’t aware that he was moving towards Hugh until he felt Alan’s hand on his shoulder, stopping him.
“Don’t do anything rash.” Alan advised through mind link, causing him to stay where he was.
“I don’t have time for your ranting.” Hugh replied with a hint of mockery in his voice, thereby provoking Roy even more.
“Hugh, this is no time for games.” Alan interjected, trying to prevent things from going downhill as he could already sense the tension between the cousins.
“Really? Is that all you have to say?”
“You broke a rule that shouldn’t be broken no matter what. You even went as far as killing two innocent lives after I warned you not to do anything rash.” Alan angrily replied.
“And why should I listen to you?” Hugh asked through gritted teeth, his eyes flickering from brown to yellow as his wolf was getting angry for being spoken to in that manner.
“It seems you’re forgetting your place, Alan.” He warned in a threatening voice, already in a half shift, making Alan lower his head in submission.
Roy quickly stepped in front of Alan, also in a half shift as he has had enough of Hugh’s bullshit.
“I don’t have much patience, boy. Where is my mate?” Hugh said in a low voice.
“Well, guess what? Your mate died years ago.” Roy’s statement infuriated Hugh.
“SHE IS MINE!” Hugh growled and within seconds Roy was pinned to the wall.
“Hugh, let go of him.” Alan interfered
“Stay out of this!” Hugh warned. Roy used his distraction as an opportunity to push him off with a hard punch across his jaw, causing Hugh to stumble backwards.
“How dare you?!” he growled, lunging towards Roy and shifting mid way.
Roy wasn’t fast enough to shift into his wolf form before Hugh had him pinned to the ground, sinking his teeth into his shoulder, earning a loud groan from him.
Roy used his free hand to throw punches at the large werewolf, causing the wolf’s fangs to loosen its grip on his shoulder. Roy then used a lot of force to push the large wolf off his body, causing it to slam the wall harshly.
“That’s enough for today!” Alan said stepping between both alphas before there would be anymore fighting.
Hugh called his beta into his office.
“Is he gone?” he asked
“Yes Alpha. He already left.”
“Get me something to wear.”
“Okay Alpha.”
“And one more thing…” Hugh continued as his beta reached for the door knob.
“Get rid of him.” He instructed his beta through mind link, earning a nod from Donald.
“You may go now.” He finally said. His beta left the office without any questions, making Alan a bit suspicious.
He knew Hugh had told his beta something through mind link, but what could that be? He wondered still staring at the door like he could get his answers there.
He could tell, Hugh was up to something. He hopes no one gets hurt in the end.
“Let’s talk.” Hugh suddenly said, bringing Alan out of his thoughts.
“I’m all ears.”
