Selena fell silent.

Her hands, resting on her knees, clenched tightly. Right then, she almost wished she’d been hit by Bryan instead of being 'rescued' by Everett.

She turned her head to stare out the window, determined to ignore him. She knew that engaging further would only raise her blood pressure.
