Chapter 203
“What?” Calen asked, frowning. It was as if Liam’s words echoed inside his head. “What did you just–what did you just say?”
“You heard me.”
In one quick motion, Calen grabbed Liam by the collar and shoved him back.
“Stop lying,” Calen snapped. “You’re not married to her. That’s not possible. She loves me. How could she marry someone else?”
Liam didn’t even raise a hand. He looked down at the grip on his shirt, then met Calen’s eyes.
“She married me. Months ago. As her legal husband, I’m the only one with the right to make decisions about her.”
Calen’s grip tightened. His entire body was tense. “You’re bluffing.” How could Izzy marry Liam Horvath? No. Izzy loved Calen. He knew it. He saw it!
“I’m not.”
Calen’s hands shook. His chest rose and fell fast. Then, without warning, he pulled back and swung.
Liam sidestepped the punch, letting it fly past him.
“You should really see someone about that anger of yours,” Liam said. “Delusion isn’t easy to treat, but there are options.”
Calen turned quickly and launched at him again. Another punch missed. Liam moved aside, calm, controlled. And Calen hated it!
“Face it,” Liam said. “She left you. She chose me. She’s mine now.”
Calen’s fist hit the back of a chair. It toppled over. He didn’t care. He spun again, aiming low, but Liam stepped back and blocked with his arm.
“You’re pathetic,” Liam said. “You don’t even see it. Do you really think she still loves you
now?”
Calen was breathing hard. He didn’t stop. Another swing. Another dodge.
“You think money, power, and sneaking behind everyone makes you the better man?” Calen shouted. “She loves me! She always loved me!”
Liam stood still now, unbothered. “Then why did she marry me?”
Calen froze, fists clenched at his sides. His arms trembled, but he didn’t move again. He stared at Liam, his chest rising and falling, eyes full of disbelief. He couldn’t speak. He couldn’t argue.
No. Liam must be bluffing! The man was well–known in the industry for his bluffs! That’s right. He is trying to gaslight him into thinking that Izzy married him and now, he has the right to decide about her! This man must be trying to take Izzy away from her family. Calen moved again.
He lunged, trying to grab Liam, but Liam stepped aside. Calen hit the side of the couch, caught his balance, and turned fast.
“We were together for three years,” Calen said. “I know her. I know everything about her.”
Liam didn’t flinch.
“You think she loves you?” Calen spat. “She hated you.”

Calen rushed forward again. He swung once more, but Liam ducked, letting the punch go wide. Calen stumbled forward, caught himself on the edge of the table, then spun back around.
“You manipulated her. That’s the only reason she’s with you,” Calen said. “You pushed her into this. I know you did.”
Liam shrugged slightly. “And yet, she still married me.”
Calen let out a short breath, then charged again. He grabbed Liam’s shirt, trying to slam him against the wall. Yet, Liam easily twisted his arm free and shoved him back.
“Tell me the truth! Where is she!? I know what you’re trying to do, Liam. Don’t you dare try to deny it! You can’t fool me!” Calen hissed. “There is no way that she would marry someone like you!”
Calen’s eyes burned. His hands curled into fists again, but he didn’t swing this time. He just stood there, chest heaving, watching the man in front of him like he was seeing him for the first time.
“She’s never going to love you,” Calen said. “No matter what you do.”
Liam didn’t look away.
“She might not love me yet,” he said. “But at least I’ll never make her feel worthless.”
Calen’s eyes narrowed.
“She’ll never wake up wondering if she’s enough,” Liam added. “She’ll never find lipstick on my collar, or messages from someone else at two in the morning.”
Calen stepped forward again, but Liam held his ground.
“I won’t cheat on her. I won’t lie to her. I won’t make her doubt herself for three years straight. I’ll give her everything she deserves and more.”
Calen’s fists clenched again.
“She’ll be safe with me. She’ll be happy. She’ll never cry herself to sleep.”
Liam leaned in slightly. “You had her. And you threw her away. So don’t act like you’re the victim here.”
Calen’s breathing turned unsteady. His chest rose and fell faster, and for the first time, he didn’t try to control it.
How did Liam know?
The messages at two in the morning–the ones he deleted before Izzy could ever see them.
The lipstick smudge on his shirt–he remembered scrubbing it off in the hotel sink before heading home. He was sure he’d hidden it. Izzy never said a word.
She couldn’t have known.
His throat dried. A cold drop of realization ran through him.
Liam didn’t guess. He knew.
Every detail.
Things Calen had buried. Things he thought were gone.
