It was not until Devon Aquila had been thrown out of the Langley house for a good while that the Langley family members snapped out of their shock. 

Their faces turned grim. 

Devon was the second son of the Aquila family. In Margot’s eyes, he was a genuinely rich son–in–law who could help the Langley family fulfill their dreams of reaching a higher social standing. 

But Dustin had ruined it all! 

Margot was furious, but she was also scared of the Hell Guard, so she did not dare be too hostile to Dustin.

They did not think that she would be so cruel for the sake of the family’s interests.

She knew that David cared about the family, which was why she had intentionally put so much pressure on him. She wanted to force them into accepting marriage with Devon and cutting ties with Dustin.

He had already warned them, but that old woman still wanted to put pressure on Simone and her family and force her to marry Devon. Was she ignoring his threat? 

But David spoke up before Dustin could say anything.

“If you listen to me, I’ll treat you with respect. Your status in this family will rise,” said Margot darkly. 

But David shook his head. “I know that I was wrong. You’re all heartless and only care about your own interests and wealth. Why should I work so hard to prove myself to you?!” 

The Langley family members‘ expressions froze on their faces. 

“If we have to choose between all of you and Dustin, we will choose Dustin every time!” David said firmly. 

Simone, Camille, and Monique’s faces reflected the same resolve. 

Margot’s face turned red with rage. 

The other Langley family members were in disbelief. 

They had not expected David to side with Dustin even at the threat of being disowned.
