Rosy had given me many gifts, but since her death, Noah had taken everything back, saying I didn't deserve to keep Rosy's gifts.

This gem necklace was the only keepsake I had left from her, something I cherished deeply, and now it was ruined by Marie.

I angrily raised the necklace and glared at Marie. "Who gave you the right to throw away my things?"

Marie rolled her eyes. "Noah said everything here is mine, so what I want to throw out is none of your business."

"This is my birthday gift from Rosy," I replied, enunciating each word.

But Marie not only refused to apologize but grew more arrogant.

"And so what? If I want to throw it away, I will. Besides, Rosy is dead, so what's there to remember?"

"Anyway, since I'm not related to Noah by blood, I can totally take Rosy's place. Come on! Call me sister-in..."

I lost it and slapped Marie hard across the face.

"Eileen, how dare you hit me? Aren't you afraid I'll tell my brother?"

Anger surged within me. "How dare she disrespect Rosy!"

But before I could hit her again, I was forcefully pushed aside.

I stumbled against the window and knocked over a huge vase.

The shards exploded around me, and my face was covered in blood.

When I opened my eyes, Noah was staring at me with a thunderous expression. "Eileen, are you really crazy enough to bully people in this house now?"

I shot back, "Noah, she started it by insulting Rosy."

"Noah, I shouldn't even think about my sister's room. If she hates me, I will leave right now," Marie interrupted me, pretending to cry, but Noah grabbed her arm to stop her.

Noah's face was dark. "You are my sister, so who dares to kick you out?"

A pang shot through my heart. Before I could utter a word, Noah's gaze turned back to me. "It seems that with me away, some people forgot what respect is. So, since that's the case, you'll kneel here all night until Marie is in a better mood tomorrow."
