Chapter 1353: Abandonment

Camille couldn't help but smile as she watched Sienna bustling about.

She quickly opened the door, and outside stood Darkmoor's staff, but she immediately noticed the person behind the staff.

She hurriedly pulled the person inside and, with a smile, led Jillian in, who then began to complain about Camille to Sienna.

Camille only then realized that the person who had come was Jillian, whom she hadn't seen in a long time.

But they had met abroad, and their relationship was still good. Moreover, Jillian had helped her a lot, so Camille was naturally surprised. She stood up from her chair.

She looked surprised. "Jillian? When did you come to Hance City?"

Jillian chuckled. "I've been here for a few days. I was supposed to meet you the next day, but Mrs. Simpson has been very busy lately. I didn't want to disturb her, or else she might be upset and ignore me. What should I do?"

"Yes, Mrs. Simpson is really busy nowadays. After all, Mr. Simpson's status is there, and Mrs. Simpson is a sought-after figure in high society. Many people want to get close to her. So, Jillian, you have to be careful. Otherwise, you might miss an opportunity."

Sienna exaggeratedly agreed, playing her part well. Camille almost wanted to arrest her on the spot.

Camille didn't interrupt and instead quietly listened to their nonsense. After they were done, she invited Jillian to sit and spoke seriously, "Jillian, you came to Hance City to meet Sienna but didn't tell me. Does that mean I, as Mrs. Simpson, am not as useful as Mrs. Ward? Or did Mrs. Ward offer you something that made you disregard me? Let me tell you, acting this way will only make you disliked, and it makes me quite unhappy. If this sought-after figure is unhappy, who knows what uncontrollable actions she might take?"

Camille spoke seriously, and if these two didn't know her well and hadn't experienced this kind of interaction with her before, they might have been influenced by her words.

After Camille finished speaking, Sienna and Jillian were both stunned, and they exchanged glances before quickly changing the subject. "I'm so hungry. Can we eat now?"

They had just ordered, so they couldn't eat yet.

Camille didn't respond but instead looked at Sienna and asked, "Mrs. Ward, would you like to inquire?"

Sienna quickly apologized, "Cami, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I know I was wrong. Please forgive me and give me another chance, okay?"

Camille simply hummed and didn't speak. Sienna then poured tea for her and said to Jillian, "Our Cami can't possibly be pretentious. It's all made up by us. Our Cami is the best."

Jillian seemed used to their dynamic and nodded. "Yes, Cami is impressive."

Camille took a sip of her tea and then said calmly, "Let's talk. Are you really here in Hance City to see us?"

Sienna asked, "What are you thinking? Aren't you discouraged at all? Don't you find this process exhausting and challenging?"

Jillian replied with a smile, "I've probably had enough of good days and felt like punishing myself a bit."

She said this with a smile, showing eagerness for the challenge.

"If I succeed, then I'll have Mario. That would be a perfect ending. But if I fail, I'll keep trying. I don't think Mario's feelings for you will disappear easily. Having me around will create a barrier for him, making things easier for you. Once you're married and have children, if he still hasn't given up, then he's truly beyond help."

"If that's the case, will you give up?" Camille asked.

Jillian paused, seemingly not having considered this question. After a brief moment of thought, she said, "I don't think I'll give up."

Camille gave her a thumbs up, impressed by Jillian's determination even in such circumstances. It seemed only true love could inspire such resolve.

Soon, their food arrived, and they continued to chat while eating.

It had been a long time since they had seen each other, so there was much to catch up on. However, most of the conversation revolved around Mario.
