It was already too late.
Anika waited twenty minutes after sending the message but received no response from Nataly or Alena.
Feeling distracted, she lied on the bed with her phone in her hands.
Not long after, she fell asleep with those thoughts in her mind.
The next day, Anika woke up very early.
After that night, she finally admitted that she was attracted to Zac, but she was also determined to restrain herself.
As of now, she wouldn't do anything until she was sure that he also felt the same.
Thinking about Zac's hangover last night, Anika finished her bath and went downstairs.
She took some kumquats from the refrigerator and made him a cup of sober tea.
Zac, on the other hand, walked down from the second floor wearing a loose T-shirt and sweatpants.
The man seemed to have just gotten out of the shower.
His short, fine hair was simply brushed past, with some water dripping on it.
It shone brightly in the early morning light.
After changing into his usual suit, the cold and mature aura on his body dimmed a little.
With a few distinctions, he was handsome, lean, sturdy, and full of vigor.
The guilt in Anika's heart lessened slightly as her gaze fell on his handsome face.
She came closer to him and pursed her lips.
"I made you a cup of sober tea.Drink it first! “ Zac nodded lightly, took the cup of sober tea on the dining table and drank it all in one gulp.
"I was drunk last night.Did I cause you any trouble?" he asked casually.
The man lowered his eyelids, expressionless.
Anika felt a little guilty and quickly replied.
"No- Zac let out a soft hum and put down his cup before he sat down.” He leaned against the back of the chair and looked at her deeply.
"So, I really did nothing, right?" He asked curiously.
"You're so drunk, so what could you possibly do?"
Anika couldn't help but laugh when she remembered how drunk he looked at her last night.
Zac raised his eyebrows and looked at her with an inquiring gaze, "Why do you sound so disappointed?"
Anika paused for a while before she lowered her eyes, "What do I have to be disappointed with .."
Her last words slowly faded.
She quietly served their breakfast with I simple toast, poached eggs and millet porridge.
Zac rolled his eyes slightly, then withdrew his gaze, picked up the porridge she had placed in front of him, and didn't ask any more questions.
The two of them silently ate their breakfast and the dining room was filled with silence.
Anika ate her breakfast slowly, as if she was thinking about something else.
As soon as Zac finished his breakfast, he reached out a tissue and slowly wiped the corners of his mouth.
After a while, he said casually, "Oh right, I forgot to tell you that I had installed a camera in the master bedroom."
Upon hearing what he said, Anika's hand that was holding the toast instantly froze.
"You installed a camera here and you didn't even tell me?" she reacted right away.
‘’If he installed a camera in the master bedroom, did he watch the video from last night when he woke up?’’
Although she didn't do anything, with Zac's attitude, he had definitely discovered what had happened last night and was asking for confirmation from her.
While Zac continued to explain in a relaxed manner, she silently contemplated her own feelings.
"Don't worry, I only installed it on my bedroom and study area so it won't affect you.You said last time that the safe was vulnerable to thieves, so I thought this is the best way to protect my own property”
Anika recently discovered that Zac had left so much money in the study room and casually advised him to strengthen his anti-theft measures so that he could easily catch the thieves.
However, she never expected that Zac would install a camera in his bedroom.
‘‘Is there any treasure in his room?’ "Even if it doesn't affect me, you should at least let me know." Anika muttered softly.
How could it not affect her? If she knew that he had installed a camera in the master bedroom, she would have restrained her impulse action last night.
But she couldn't tell him that.
Zac laughed at her reaction.
"Anika, why do you care so much? Tell me, have you done something to me last night?"
His dark eyes showed that he already had an idea as he looked at her pale face.
Anika's fingertips moved slightly, then she frowned and shook her head.
"How can you say that?"
"Oh? Really?"
"No." she quickly answered.
Zac silently looked at her for a few a minutes before finally giving up on interrogating her.
