I have been treating my illness
kkk
The next day.
The sunlight brushed against the curtains.
She felt cold. She rubbed her eyes and opened it. She saw William was walking in the direction of the bathroom.
Alice rolled on the bed, rolling to where William had originally slept. She buried her face in the pillow, and upon smelling the scent of him, she revealed a smile.
It's so cold.
Alice sat up, adjusted the temperature of the room using remote controller, then got off the bed and went to the bathroom to shower.
Her legs were still sore.
After finishing her shower in another guest room, Alice wrapped a towel around her body and walked into the bedroom while stroking her long, dry hair.
The room was empty.
She looked in the direction of the bathroom. This man bathed longer than her?
Alice smiled and sat down on the bed. Her eyes casually looked around the room and her gaze landed on the bedside table. On it laid a watch.
Alice picked it up and looked at it, and saw that it was William's watch.
William returned to her side.
Thinking about it, Alice's eyes were filled with a smile, she extended her hand to put the watch back, and saw a hotel notice by her bed, held together with a clip.
Alice took a look and saw the date of registration.
It was half a month ago.
Alice's smile froze on her face. William lived here half a month ago? He returned to San Francisco half a month ago?
Then why didn't he come to her?
Alice bit her lips as she held the list, and sounds came from outside the door.
She stood up and walked to the entrance to take a look, only to see William wearing a white robe, standing in front of the french window. His short hair was still wet, and his bony fingers were holding a mobile phone as he coldly said, "Arrange for the press conference to be held in a week, and push the attention of the media and the public regarding my return to the highest point in that week. Mysteries are often the most attractive publicity."
Alice stood at the door and listened.
His voice was low and sexy, the same as before, but there was something more.
"In addition, I have two lists on my desk, one for a rise in salary and the other for a meeting." William instructed coldly as he turned his head to look at Alice, "Arrange a meeting for this morning at 9: 30 AM. That's all."
With that, William hung up the phone, looked at Alice: "You're awake?"
Not only was she awake, she had even taken a shower. Didn't he notice?
"Yes." Alice smiled and nodded, she then walked towards him and handed over the hotel notice, and asked: "You returned to San Francisco half a month ago?"
"Yes."
William took the notice and looked at it, then said with a calm expression.
Alice's eyes dimmed, "Why didn't you look for me?"
She was waiting for him in the gallery across the street from the N.E.
"I've been hiding in the city for the past half month to analyze N.E.'s future situation as well as to find out if there are any talented people or companies that can help me." William said, "If I went to see you, everyone knew that I returned."
He spoke clearly, but Alice felt her heart tighten when she heard him.
"So, the timing of your return was something you chose?" Alice asked. She was not stupid.
"That's right, I told my father to make the death declaration. In these four years, I have disappeared from everyone's sight, and in order to revive N.E. and get other people's attention on N.E., there has to be a shocking return. This is the best time to come back to life when the media are all over the place saying I'm dead."
William smiled, his eyes were filled with high spirits.
Alice lowered her gaze, she thought, she knew who the person that called the media anonymously was, it was him.
He purposely let the whole world spread the news of his death.
"Your parents already knew that you were fine?"
Alice asked.
"Mother doesn't know, a woman's heart is soft, and it's easy for her to make mistakes." William said, and immediately threw the notice in his hand towards the dustbin.
Alice stood in front of the window, not moving.
William turned his eyes, and saw that her complexion was not well.
Alice looked up at him, "William, you should tell me, do you know how long I've been waiting for you?"
What he said was very good, very reasonable, and very right.
But how could he bear to let her wait as long as possible?
"Are you angry?" William looked at her with his black eyes, then placed his hands on her shoulders, "Am I not back?"
Alice looked at him silently, not moving.
"N.E. is my achievement, and it has been on the decline by me in such a manner. If a man can't even take care of his own business, what qualifications does he have to talk about love?" William said, and pulled her into his embrace, "Enough, don't bother about this."
She wasn't being fussy.
She was just worried.
Alice was carried by him as she looked up at him, "Where have you been and what have you been doing these past four years?"
"I'm going to the company for a meeting right now, I don't have time to chat with you so much. We'll have dinner together to talk about this."
William said.
She returned to her room, where Kathy was sitting at the end of the bed and playing a game with a Game handles. Alice walked over, sat on the bed and laid down, looking at the ceiling.
William returned.
The initial excitement and nervousness gradually faded. It seemed to be more of a melancholy.
He cured it.
No wonder she felt weird after their reunion yesterday. She thought it was because she hadn't seen him for four years, but it turned out to be because he had recovered from his illness.
So this was the normal version of William.
It was a good thing that the irritable, furious, and uncontrollable him of the past had disappeared.
However, she didn't know why he suddenly thought of treating it four years ago. He didn't give her any news.
"Mom, do you want to sleep?"
Kathy turned her head to look at her. Throwing the Game handles away, she crawled in front of her and lowered her eyes to look at her.
"I'll lie down for a while. What about you, do you want to go play or rest today?"
"I want to see Dad."
Kathy said as she blinked her eyes.
William hadn't actually seen the twins once.
"How about we have dinner with Dad tonight?" Alice said.
Kathy excitedly shook her head, "Okay, okay, my flowers withered. I will go pick another flower in a while- the most beautiful ones!"
"Hmm." Alice nodded her head, her eyes quietly stared straight at Kathy, "Kathy, what kind of person do you think Dad is?"
"He..." Kathy laid beside her, her small hands supported her little face, her head tilted as she thought seriously. She seemed to have thought of something and giggled.
"What are you thinking about?"
Seeing Kathy's innocent look, Alice's mood improved a little.
"Will Dad like me? If he doesn't like me, I'll kiss him."
Regarding her father's sudden appearance, Kathy was only thinking about whether William liked her or not.
Alice was startled when she heard it, and then she raised her head to stroke her soft hair, and said: "Of course he likes you, you are so lively and cute."
Kathy's tender voice touched her heart.
What was so sad about it?
A person who had disappeared for four years was back in her life. He still loved her, and he still kissed her. Wasn't that the best thing?
It was also good for the twins. They wouldn't possibly see their father throwing things in a fit of rage.
