Quite a lot these last four years

"I thought you didn't hear me." He's so busy.

"I'm not deaf."

William kept the documents in his briefcase, opened the car door, and opened the door for her, "Get out."

Alice nodded and got off the car.

It was a quiet road.

William accompanied her silently as she walked forward.

Alice raised her head.

In the night sky, the most gorgeous firework blossomed, brimming with the feeling of celebration for the new year.

This was the first time Alice looked forward to this new year.

"Let's find some time to go back to the Imperial Castle and set things up, shall we? There should be a bit of atmosphere for the new year."

Alice said.

There was silence in response.

Alice turned her head around and William stopped in his tracks. He stared at her.

Seeing that, Alice understood. "You don't have time, right?"

"N.E. is not on track yet, and there are a lot of things I have to deal with. If you want to set things up, just let the servants do it. " William said in a low voice.

Alice raised her eyes and looked at him.

"I can't accompany you. Are you unhappy?"

William stared at her and asked.

Alice blinked her eyes, and then smiled: "William, you have really changed quite a lot these past four years."

"How?" William looked down at her.

"Mature, rational."

In the old days, when he was not so sensible, he would have gone home when he got the prize because he thought of her; he would have pulled her in at meetings because he wanted her.

He used to be a man who didn't distinguish between business and personal matters.

"Sounds like a good word."

William smiled in satisfaction.

"You can control your emotions now. Do you know how afraid I was because I thought you'd beat up that graduate student when you came into the gallery tonight." Alice tried to make her tone as calm as possible.

Hearing this, William stared at her with his black eyes, "How old is he, and how old am I? Fighting with a student for jealousy is too brainless."

Alice smiled.

Therefore, he was becoming more and more rational. He had truly become a normal person, a mature adult.

She raised her gaze to the sky, and the fireworks became increasingly sparse.

"What about bad changes?"

William's low voice sounded beside her ear.

Alice bit her lips and said softly, "None."

"You wouldn't look so lonely without any bad changes on me." He could tell this point, "Speak, don't hold it in. I'm no longer the William of the past."

Now that she thought about it, in the past, he was just a childish bastard with a grumpy temper.

Alice stood with her back facing him, and did not dare to look at his face, "Should I really say that?"

"Speak."

"You're too rational now. You're missing something." Alice said honestly.

"What?"

William's black eyes darkened.

"Human feelings. Right, human feelings." Alice rubbed her cold hands together, "You shouldn't treat my foster father like that. In the four years you were gone, how much did he pay to look for you?"

But in his eyes, Daniel was just a butler, a servant.

Daniel would definitely feel sad in his heart.

"You're being too emotional."

William said, his voice was low and indifferent.

"I'm being emotional?"

Alice turned and looked at him, somewhat stunned.

"I can't deny that Daniel had indeed paid a lot in these past four years. It's fine for you to address him as your foster father, but there are many things that go against the rules and become extremely difficult to deal with. Why be so troublesome?" William said.

"But before..."

"I know that if it was before, I would definitely go along with you. I'll give you anything you want, but that's why it was so hard for us to be together. It was because I went against the rules. In the past, I was simply unable to give you stability, but now that I can, I know how to make us the safest path, and I don't care about whether or not the eyes of the entire world are on me, you have already seen that."

He had disgraced himself.

He had been separated from her for a long time.

Alice realized that she couldn't say a word, and couldn't refute him at all.

"I have the best plans for our future." William caressed her face with one hand as he looked at her with his black eyes, "That William from the past was unable to give you anything, while I can give you everything. I know that you need a stable life, a stable home."

William looked at the screen coldly, took out the remote controller and turned off the television, he glanced at the neatly made bed and turned to walk out.

On the clothes rack hung Alice's down jacket. He found a few rooms and finally went into the kitchen, where the aroma of food drifted in.

Both of Alice's hands were covered in gloves, she was holding a piece of steamed fish, and when she turned around, she saw William standing at the door, and she smiled: "You're up? Breakfast."

William walked over, his black eyes glanced at the rich array of dishes on the table, and his brows twisted in dissatisfaction, "This was all made by you when you woke up in the morning? Don't do such chores anymore."

"I thought you'd like what I made."

Alice's smile immediately stiffened as she placed the fish on the table.

"I didn't say I didn't like it." William looked at her as he said this, he then sat down at the dining table, "In the past, the reason why I kept asking you to cook was because I'm paranoid. Now that I've been cured, how could I possibly need my own fiancee to cook for me? It's not like you're my servant."

"It's alright. I'll be happy to take care of your meals."

Alice took off her gloves and sat down opposite of him.

William glanced at her, "You're just used to being abused by me in the past, what's there to be happy about cooking."

"Oh."

Alice started to eat, sizing up William as he placed the dishes between his lips gracefully. He didn't have any thoughts of despising her, so he ate it one by one, but he did not consume it all, and even asked her to eat a little more.

It was as if she had fallen in love with someone else.

Alice knew that her thoughts were very strange.

"What will you do today?"

William casually asked.

"Today? Bringing the twins to decorate the Gallery, Kathy has never seen how the new year is celebrated in our country." Alice said.

"Mm. Alright."

William answered, he had no objections.

"By the way, workaholic, no matter what, don't be busy on New Year's Eve. Let's spend the New Year together." Alice said as she looked at William.

"What did you call me?"

William looked up.

Alice looked at him silently. Did she say the anything wrong?

When she saw him again, she didn't know if he could get angry or not.

William stared at her cautious appearance, "It is alright in private, but not in public. You don't have to be so nervous."

"I thought you were angry."

'Tm not that easy to get angry, you don't have to be so scared." William looked at her and laughed, "It seems that I had really frightened you in the past. Don't worry, that William will never appear again."
