"I'm fine." Mary smiled, and stood there looking at her, "Patrick said that since Big Sis was willing to accept his property, even if she didn't forgive him, it would make him feel better. Sis, you have always been kind."
Kind.
The word was too heavy for her.
"I'm not as good as that. Those properties belong to the Brown Family, there's no excuse for me to reject it if he is willing to return it."
Alice said coldly, her hands were in her pockets as she turned her face away, avoiding looking at Mary's eyes that were shining with joy.
"Sis, you're already here. Go in and take a look at him."
Mary said.
"I have nothing to talk about with him." Alice said. In fact, she did not know what to talk about with Patrick anymore.
"No need to chat, he doesn't know that I bring him out today so that you can meet him." Mary said while standing by the side.
Alice looked at Mary in puzzlement, "I don't understand what you're trying to do."
Patrick didn't know she was at this cafe?
Mary lowered her head, "Sis, actually, he doesn't want you to see what he looks like at the moment, he feels that he no longer has the qualifications to stand in front of you."
Alice lowered her eyes silently.
"But I know that Patrick has been missing you for the past four years, so I would like to invite you to meet him, just one glance will be enough." Mary looked at her and said.
"Is there any meaning of it?"
Alice countered with a question. There was too much involved between them.
"Yes." Mary nodded strongly, "There is. I helped Patrick, didn't I? I really want to help him, Sis."
Alice looked at Mary and stood there silently, not saying a word.
"Come, Sis. Come with me."
Seeing that Alice did not reject her, Mary pulled her inside.
Alice lowered her eyes and looked at Mary's leg. The gunshot made Mary unable to walk swiftly.
The moment they entered the cafe, Alice was dragged all the way by Mary, and walked to the entrance of a private box.
Mary gave her a glance, then walked into the private room, and opened the door.
Alice stood in place. A few seconds later, she walked forward slowly with her hands in her pocket. Without making a sound, she raised her head to look.
It was like a reunion after a century.
In the clean and tidy room, Patrick sat on the sofa beside the table, he dressed very well, without a speck of dust. He sat there with his long and narrow eyes, his nose was straight, his lips pursed, one of his hand slowly touched the coffee cup on the table. His hand shook in the air a few times, grabbed the handle of the cup, and almost threw the cup away.
Alice subconsciously covered her lips with her hands, her eyes reddened.
He was blind again.
She remembered that when he was young, he had always been depressed and that he could stay in one place for a long time without moving.
"I'll do it, Patrick." Mary ran over and handed the coffee cup over to him and placed it in his hands.
Patrick sat there, his face was filled with desolation. His long fingers cupped onto the coffee cup as he asked in a low voice, "Where did you go? It's a mess outside right now, don't run around."
"The cafe is safe, the Police station is just next door." Mary sat down beside him, tilted her head and looked at him, "Thank you for your concern, Patrick."
Patrick took a sip of the coffee, his was very careful, he raised the cup to his lips.
"As I said, you can live better without me." He said in a low voice after drinking a mouthful of coffee.
Mary sat beside him, raised her eyes and looked at Alice who was standing at the door, and smiled bitterly, "I don't want to leave, I know you don't like me, it's okay for me to be your friend or your maid, I'm willing to do so."
Alice stood there and looked at them quietly.
"You know, I've actually lived these past four years to a very full and satisfying degree." Mary's words were directed towards Patrick, but she was looking in Alice's direction, "In the past, I was always jealous of Big Sister, and always wanted to possess you. As long as I could have you, I do not care about using some tricks."
Patrick sat in silence, not saying a word.
"Now that I think about it, I was really a annoying person before. I nearly caused you to suffer from a serious illness." Mary said with a choked voice, but she still continued to smile, "I can accompany you now, and take care of you like how I my big sister used to be. I feel satisfied in my heart."
Patrick remained silent.
The one who loved deeply was always doomed to be hurt.
Alice quietly looked at them. Patrick had also lost weight, she still remembered four years ago when Patrick had everything.
In fact, taking possession of the Brown Family's wealth and power was not a good thing for him.
The game that year was completely set up for her, but they both lost.
"Right." Mary feigned a relaxed tone, "Big sister has already come here to handle the procedures, she seems to be a law firm nearby, do you want to go and take a look? What if there's a procedure for you to do it yourself?"
"The lawyer will contact me."
Patrick held the coffee cup and carefully put it back on the table.
"Don't you want to see my sister? She is about to leave this place."
His mood fluctuated greatly.
Alice knew that he had recognized her.
"It's me, Patrick."
Alice opened her mouth and spoke in a hoarse voice.
Hearing that, Patrick immediately let go of her hand, as if he was shocked by something, and retreated backwards, almost falling down again. Alice subconsciously reached out her hand to support him again.
"Don't touch me!"
Patrick said, he no longer had his previous elegant look.
She looked at him and was silent.
Patrick turned his head, not allowing her to see his lifeless eyes, but he was not sure if she couldn't see him anymore. His head kept moving back and forth, appearing to be in a state of panic.
Alice never thought that she would see Patrick like this again. She lowered her eyes and said, "Then I'll leave."
He didn't want her to see him, so she left.
There was no need for them to meet again.
Alice walked to the door and saw that Patrick was still standing there, trying his best to hide his face. Hearing her footsteps moving further away, Patrick opened his eyes and slightly moved his lips, "Have the procedures been completed?"
Alice stopped and stood there, her voice was low, "It's almost done."
"That's good." Patrick nodded, he tried his best to calm down and looked at her, "You... Forget it."
He wanted to ask her how she had been for the past four years, but he suddenly realized that he was no longer qualified to ask.
Alice turned her head to look at him. Patrick seemed extremely uncomfortable, he tried his best to find a proper place to stand, but he couldn't.
It was a chaos that Alice rarely saw on him.
Alice lowered her eyes, wanting to say something, but she was unable to say anything. Mary walked in, saying, "I've ordered a good meal."
Upon entering, Mary saw that Alice was standing there in a daze, she understood that they had met each other.
"No need, the team of lawyers I hired is still outside. Goodbye."
Alice said to Mary as she turned and walked out.
The three people who used to live under the same roof didn't even know how to talk to each other.
