Of the Patrick Rob stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is My mate, My exception. The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter 21. Let's read the author's My mate, My exception Patrick Rob story right here.
"Yeah, of course." I quickly say, trying to brush off the situation. "And that happens all the time, the thing with Jeremy, he kind of hates me all the time." My words don't have the calming effect I had hoped and instead he gets even more mad.
"I don't think anything you did deserves this." He grumbles.
I sigh and his head snaps up towards me. "I'm sorry." I mumble. Jake puts a small smile on his face and finally pulls me towards the door.
"You shouldn't have to be sorry, no one should treat my girl that way." At these words I break into a huge smile. He calls me his girl!
"So where are we going?" I question.
"You'll see." He says, giving me a naughty smirk. I roll my eyes and follow him to his car.
"You brought me to your parents place?!" I yell at Jake as he finally tells me where we were parking. I was thinking he'd take me out to get ice cream or bowling like a normal guy would do. Instead he pulls up to this huge house and tells me he wants me to meet his parents without warning. "We've only known eachother a week- less than a week really and you're already asking me to meet your family." I frantically pull down the mirror to check my reflection, trying to neaten my hair and fix my make-up.
"Yeah, but for werewolves me introducing you to my parents is like you meeting the in-laws." My hands drop to my lap and I watch my eyes widen in the mirror. I stop breathing as my brain swarms with thoughts.
In-laws? Does he already think of me as a fiancé? What if they don't like me. What if they think I am too weak to be mates with their son?
I also realize how much I really mean to Jake. To him, this is totally normal. He says finding your mate in the werewolf wolf is a natural occurance. As natural as a middle school girl getting her period. You find your mate and get to live happily ever after. I'm the one who complicates that though. What if they're mad at me for making this thing complicated for their son?
"Jen, calm down. Just breathe." His words sooth me and I let out a huge breath that I forgot I was holding in. "It's gonna be alright, really, this is normal for everyone else, they're gonna love you like they love me." I wanted to laugh at his confidence, but I'm too freaked out.
"I get that it's normal for everyone else but it's not normal for me." I stree glancing over at Jake.
Jake takes a sharp intake of breath and nods his head. "I'm sorry Jen. I wasn't thinking about you when I did this. I'm a horrible mate. I'll just take you home and we can watch a movie or something."
He goes to change gears to back out but I stop his hand.
