"So I should probably go." I say, really hating the words as they left my mouth.

"Yeah..." He says. "Maybe I should walk you up to the porch!" He exclaims.

"Yeah! That's be great." We both hop out of the car and we walk up to my house, our hands swinging between us.

We get to the door and we both stand there awkwardly. I don't want to say good night and I assume he doesn't either.

After half a minute of us standing their in silence, Jake speaks up.

"Goodnight Jen." He tells me sweetly.

"Goodnight Jake." I tell him back.

He leans forward and I do too. When our lips meet, I can tell his lips are begging me not to leave him. His lips are urgent and even though I know I have to pull away soon, I make the most of the moment I'm in now.

I wrap my arms around his neck to pull him closer. My body feels like it's on fire, his one hand holds my waist, the other is wrapped in my hair. Soon I am on my tiptoes. My back arches forward so our bodies are in sync. His lips are hard against mine and after a few seconds, our tongues collide.

I'm backed against the wall next to the door when the light right inside the door flicks on. I quickly pull away from Jake and attempt to straighten my hair as the door opens.

My mom stands in front of us with a garbage bag in her hand, looking between us surprised.

"You're home late Jen." She states sternly.

I open my mouth to speak but Jake is quicker. "I'm so sorry Mrs....." He never finishes and I realize I've never told him my last name.

"Just call me Rachel," my mom beams. "You must be Jake, my husband said he'd met you."

"Yes ma'am. I actually took Jen to my house to meet my parents." My mom looked surprised at his words, but I couldn't blame her.

"Well that sounds wonderful. Jen, you should be getting inside though. It is a school night." My mom says pointedly. I nod my head.

"Goodnight Jake." I repeat.

"Goodnight Jen." He breathlessly replies.

Then I walk inside, leaving my mom to take out the trash and Jake to drive home.

I wake up on Wednesday after a horrible night's sleep.

The last time I saw Jake was Monday night. We were supposed to hang out last night, but he cancelled last minute due to something he had to do for work.
