As cliché as it sounds, the house still had an eerie feel to it. It was a dark color, and the shutters looked creaky and rusted.
The doors were opened and everyone got out. Soon it was just me and Luca. He gestured for me to go first and I shook my head profusely. No way I was letting him see my butt. He let out a low laugh and got out ahead of me.
As soon as I stepped out of the car a vampire grabbed my arm and started dragging me inside.
"Do you really think if I ran you couldn't catch me?" I can't help but spit out sarcastically. The fist from my captivator comes out of no where, decking me on the side of me head.
I stumbled, wondering how some people take these hits easily. The pounding in my head wants me to curl into a ball on the ground, but I'm pulled along roughly.
"Now lets not damage our goods now Samuel, we don't want a head injury to alter or test results do we?" I would shudder at his words if my disoriented brain actually processed most of them.
The inside of the house was actually clean. The floors were shiny, the decorations were dusted and besides my company I would think this house belonged to a normal family.
I'm dragged through a dining room, kitchen, and living room. Each room consisted of a few vampires, casually lounging around.
We get to a staircase and as most of the vampires around me go up, I'm dragged down. Luckily the staircase was small, because when I tripped Samuel didn't hesitate to allow my dragging body to bounce down the steps.
As we begin walking again downstairs, I take note that only Luca, Samuel, and Micah are with me.
I would ask how Micah got here, but I wanted to save my skull from any more damage.
Surprisingly the basement reminded me of a hospital corridor. It was white, and even cleaner than the upstairs. I wasn't far off when a door opened and I walked into a room that looked like an exam room.
"Thank you, Samuel and Micah, you're excused." Samuel immediately got up and left. Micah however lingered.
"Is there a problem, Micah?" Luca questions, a hint of humor on his voice. Micah gestured to me with an obvious meaning.
He wanted to stay.
"Now Micah, as cute as a button that Jen may seem, we wouldn't want you making any relations would we?" Luca asks, smiling a little too sweetly.
I can't help but shudder.
