Chapter 69 novel My mate, My exception

She did and now I could be saved.

"Thank you." I breathe to respond to him, rolling back to my original spot. I hear him shuffle back to his original spot too, just in time too, for right when it gets quiet again I hear odd footsteps come down the hallway. Then I heard the begging.

"Please! Please don't-" the girl screams before she finishes her own sentence and it brings me back to the scream I heard not too long ago.

"Kayla?" I yell out. I scramble to my feet and look out the little window on my door. Kayla is being dragged behind the guard that held me my first day, Samuel, I think his name was.

"Jen!" She gasps. I don't know how, but she sometimes gets out of his hold. I'm not sure where she hit him but as he kneeled down with a grunt she runs toward my door.

"How did you..... Kayla what-"

"Jen I sent it hours ago." He face is bruised heavily and I can't even imagine what the rest of her body must look like. "Hours, Jen, I think they're coming!" It's all she says before Samuel slams his body against her back making her head smack against the door.

"Kayla? KAYLA!" I scream. Samuel totally ignores me as he picks up a now unconscious Kayla very roughly. From the way she hung over his shoulder, I'd guess she was knocked out, again.

She had actually sent it though. They actually could be coming.

When I heard a set of footsteps approach my door I didn't even react. The past three days I had jumped at every sign of movement, any sign of rescue.

I hadn't seen Kayla since she was being carried over Samuels back. I didn't know what happened to her, but she never passed my cell again.

Whether or not some one was coming to save me, I didn't know. I did know that I really hoped they were.

My thoughts were on Jake all the time, especially in these past couple days. If I was rescued I could be with him again. We could have our child together.

My door opened and Micah stepped in with an expressionless face. He didn't have to say anything to get me to stand up and follow him.

My stomach was definitely noticeable now. Just in the past days I had gotten bigger. I didn't just look like I had a little pouch of fat anymore.

I folded my arms across my chest, wrapping my palms against Jake's shirt that I still had. I felt cold and nervous. I could just feel; something bad was coming.

We were walking down a hall that resembled a dungeon. There was a musky smell, and the floors were rough. He didn't wait for me when he opened a door and walked into a room ahead of me.

What I saw was not what I expected.
