Night Rider MC novel Chapter 20

I don't know everything that happened to the woman. I to see any woman living in fear let alone feeling as if she lost everything that mattered to her. She has given up. Anyone can see that.

I remember my friends sister losing the man she loved and how she waisted away right in front of our eyes. However she lost so much more than that. I was standing outside smoking when I watched as she walked toward the barn.

I watched her hair hanging down her back, blowing in the breeze. Then I watched one of the horses walk over and put his nose in her neck. I heard, "Fuck" Then saw a prospect run toward the barn.

As he got closer to the woman the horse rushed the fence towards him. What the hell is going on I wondered. I watched as another prospect ran into the house. Then Hunter and Savage ran out.

"Hunter, look at that. Black is protecting Star from the prospect."

I will be dammed. When the prospect backed away, Black walked back over to Star and put his nose in her neck again.

"Savage it is like he is comforting her."

"He is not hurting her Hunter."

Black hate everyone. But, Star apparently. We watched as Star sat down staring out at the woods. Every now and than Black leaned his head down and looked at Star.

"Savage, walk over toward Star."

When I got within three feet of her, Black lifted his head and watched me. The closer I got, the more aggressive he got such as charging the fence. Black is protecting Star. I can't believe it. The closer I got, Black started kicking the fence.

As I backed away from Star he quieted down.

"I think that we just leave her alone."

"Black is not going to hurt her."

"Savage I do think that Black likes Star."

"I agree."

We walked back toward the clubhouse.

"Hunter, what were you all worried about." I asked

"Black Eagle, That horse, is a killer horse, a wild horse. He doesn't like anyone. And nobody here has ever been able to ride him."

We all sat on the front porch and watched that horse and Star. She is beautiful. What made her want to give up?"

"Black Eagle, she used to be a strong woman."

"She used to fight in the underground. And she was good."

I finished telling Black Eagle about Star before Raven took her. When I finished telling him about Star, he looked at me in Shock.

"You have got to be kidding me."

"I know if I told my VP what Gunner told Ripper we would be fighting."

"Then he would go back to his woman's house.

"If Ripper loved her like he said he did, he would have to Gunner to go to hell."

"What the fuck is coming out of the woods Hunter?"

"Shit, it is a wolf and it is headed straight for Star. As we stood up we all saw Black jump the fence and run toward the wolf. Black was attacking it. I watched as Savage ran over to Star and pick her up.

Just as Black killed it he turned his head and saw Savage with Star. I stood holding Star as Black ran toward me. He stopped within a foot of me.

I slowly stood Star on her feet and backed away from her as Black walked over to her and sniffed her. He rubbed his head along her neck. Then he looked from her to me.

I was shocked as he jumped over the fence. I walked back over and gently lifted Star in my arms. Black watched me but he didn't move. I turned and carried her back to the clubhouse. I sat her on the swing on the porch.

"Shit, Savage. I thought he was going to attack you." Hunter said.
