Chapter 291 Only You Know Your Own Joys And Sorrows

Therefore, although it appeared that he forced Lenora to break up on New Year’s Eve, in reality, Lenora merely went along with the flow.

She clearly wanted to break up with Connor, yet she put on a facade of not wanting to end things, just to provoke him.

She had grown bolder after their divorce.

Zachary removed his earphones, casually tossing them into the glove compartment.

The flame within was burning brighter and brighter, nearly impossible to contain.

In his mind, he was clamoring to turn back, to seck out Lenora and settle the score. He wanted to pin her down on the bed until she cried, and see if she still dared to provoke him!

The last sired of his sanity made him suppress that thought.

During a brief pause at a traffic light, Zachary reached into his pocket, pulling out a cigarette box and a lighter. He placed a cigarette between his teeth, ready to ignite it, but then he thought of Harrietta back seat and put the lighter back in his pocket.

The traffic light turned green, and Zachary stepped on the gas.

By the time he reached Galaxy Bay, the cigarette filter had been chewed beyond recognition.

After dropping Harrietta off at home, Zachary turned the car around and headed toward the company.

Just then, his phone rang

He glanced at the phone beside him, freeing a hand to answer the call. “Hello?”

Right off the bat, Tamara asked, “Zack, did you register Hattie into the family registry?”

A flicker of irritation flashed in Zachary’s eyes. He had no desire to speak, unwilling to argue with Tamara.

Tamara exploded, “Y–You’ve really lost your mind! What on earth has Lenora fed you to make you give up on your child? If Hattie was a boy, that would be one thing, but she’s a girl…”

“Aunt Tamara, I know exactly what I was doing. From now on, I will be Hattie’s guardian. You’re welcome to visit her whenever you miss her, but as for anything else, please refrain from interfering.”

Zachary stared straight ahead, watching the flow of traffic in front of him. His tone was resolute as he said, “You can say certain things in front of me, but please refrain from saying them in front of Hattie. It would upset her.”

“You’re really going to be the death of me!”

“I didn’t mean to do that”

“Do you know why I’ve always been against her being with you? I’m going to tell you the truth, Lenora has had a child with another man! When she was studying abroad and I was on a business trip in Fairlake. I saw her in a bar, all over a bunch of guys. The next time I saw her, she was pregnant and quickly hid from me, afraid that I’d discover what she’d been up to overseas! Normally, I wouldn’t interfere in her affairs, but your grandfather insisted on binding you two together! Zack, think about it, how was I toward her before all this? A woman like her is simply not good enough for you!”

Before they got married. Tainara was quite aloof, treating Lenora as if she were practically invisible.

Although they weren’t close, they never spoke ill of each other.

After Gerald announced their marriage, Tamara’s attitude toward Lenora took a drastic turn for the worse. It was indeed as she had said, a disservice to her nephe

Zachary lowered his gaze.

He had researched Lenora’s history abroad and knew that Tamara’s words were embellished, a mix of truth and fiction.

Perhaps, Tamara really had encountered Lenora when she was pregnant, so…..

Zachary narrowed his eyes, his voice deepening as he asked, “Were you the one who gave Susanna the photo?”

There was a sudden silence on the line for a few seconds.

Tamara didn’t expect that Zachary would suddenly think of this.

She admitted, “Yes, I ga to wake up to reality!”

it to her! I wanted you to see what kind of person Lenora really is! I wanted you

Unexpectedly, Zachary was able to accept the fact that Lenora had once given birth without any reservations!

Tamara had originally planned to use Susanna’s influence to publicly expose the photograph, intending to ruin Lenora’s reputation.

“I’ll act like this never happened. Marriage is personal–only those in it know what it’s really like. So please, Aunt Tamara, stop interfering in the name of ‘doing what’s best for me when it only harms my marriage,” Zachary warned.
