A message was sent in the group chat, stating that everyone should gather at the company’s main entrance after work the following day. The company had arranged for a charter bus to take them to a hot spring resort in the city’s suburbs. They were to head there the night before.

All in all, the three departments combined had over forty people accommodated in two passenger buses.

When the department staff arrived for work the following day, they all brought their clothes, toiletries, and other items. As soon as their shift ended, they immediately left arm in arm, their hearts yearning for the hot spring resort.

By the time Lenora made it downstairs, the company bus was already filled with a handful of employees. She boarded the bus, heading toward the back with her bag in tow. There, she found an empty double seat and settled herself in.

“Ms, Wilkin, may I sit here?” A male voice asked. Lenora looked up at the man and slightly nodded. “Sure.”

His name was Liam York, an employee from the MF department.

Liam was originally part of MQ, but was later transferred to MF.

Furthermore, Liam had once expressed his fondness for Lenora.

Suddenly, someone said in surprise, “Mr. Fuller, you’re coming, too?”

Lenora lifted her head and saw Zachary holding a luggage bag as he entered the bus, nodding.

Lenora didn’t respond. Instead, she leaned against the window, eyes closed in restful repose.

After a moment, the vehicle set off, heading toward the hot spring resort.

The bus was buzzing with energy. The employees, who rarely had the chance to unwind, were engaged in uninhibited conversation.

“Ms. Wilkin, do you have a boyfriend at the moment?” Liam asked suddenly, his voice barely noticeable amidst the clamor of the bus.

He must have intentionally lowered his voice so as not to be overheard and made a joke of by others.

Lenora nodded. “Yes.”

“Is that so? I don’t think anyone has seen him before. Ms. Wilkin, I really do like you. I hope you can give me a chance to pursue you.”

“Pursue me? Haven’t you heard the rumors going around the company?” Lenora asked curiously.

Rumors circulated within the company that she had seduced Zachary to secure her position within the Fuller family, becoming his mistress.

“All those people are just spouting nonsense. I know you’re not that kind of person,” said Liam

“Thank you for trusting me, but I really do have a boyfriend. It’s just that he’s always busy with work.”

“Well, all right then.”

“Hey, what could Liam be discussing with Ms. Wilkin? Surely, he’s not confessing to her?” a laid–back colleague suddenly shifted their gaze toward the two and jokingly remarked.

“Is what he said true, Liam?” The other colleagues began to tease.

“Ms. Wilkin, what do you think of Liam? He’s tall, handsome, and capable. Moreover, he’s only got eyes for you. Even if he fails, he’ll try again. Don’t you want to consider giving him a chance?”

With no other option, Liam stood up and said. “Stop spreading rumors. Nothing of that sort happened.”

“What’s there to be shy about? If you tell us, we might even be able to help you pursue Ms. Wilkin.”

Many people were teasing Liam in the bus.

Zachary was seated in the back, subtly clearing his throat.

Miles immediately stepped in to defuse the situation. “All right, all right, keep your jokes to yourselves. Don’t talk nonsense in front of the ladies.”
