Kourtney stood frozen and was at a loss. She instinctively reached for the necklace around her neck as if to take it off.

"I'm very sorry, miss, but this young lady came first and is currently trying it on. Could you kindly wait a moment?" The saleswoman who had helped Kourtney was quick to respond, smiling as she explained to Casey.

Casey's facial features were squeezed tightly. "I'm a member here. Do you not understand what I'm saying? She's just an orphan from the countryside. How could she afford this? Stop wasting time and bring it to me already."

The saleswoman started to say something, but another one suddenly appeared from nowhere, smiling obsequiously. "So sorry, Ms. Newton. She's new and doesn't know the rules. I'll bring the necklace to you right away!"

She then turned to Kourtney with a long face. "Miss, you've already tried it on. Would you please remove the necklace? Another guest wishes to purchase it."

Kourtney was about to nod when I pressed down on her hand. Staring at the woman before me, I questioned coldly, "Who says we're not buying it?"

"Jace, you're here too?"

Casey wanted to humiliate Kourtney. She was planning to have her hand over the necklace after being forced to remove it. She hadn't expected me to be here. When she heard my voice, her face instantly fell.

"Mr. Ranford, this isn't right. Your girlfriend is standing right here, and you're buying things for another woman?"

I had bought Casey things from here before, though I only came here in person a few times. Later, I mostly just picked the items online and had them sent to her.

But ever since we broke up, I had stopped sending anything. With no more expensive jewelry delivered straight to her, Casey had to spend her own money and come to the store herself.

The saleswoman who spoke up earlier recognized us. She tried to curry favor with Casey by standing firmly on Casey's side and righteously scolding me.
