Kourtney was so happy that I couldn't bring myself to ruin her excitement. So, I smiled and agreed. At first, I thought that Kourtney would treat me to a meal at some dirty and cheap restaurant she had eaten at before. To my surprise, she had actually reserved a table at the restaurant I frequented.

This restaurant had an average cost of one to two thousand dollars per person. That might not mean much to me, but for Kourtney, that was half of her monthly salary. Spending that much on one meal felt unnecessarily extravagant.

"I don't think this restaurant is suitable." Kourtney didn't even let me drive today. Instead, she got a cab for us.

I hesitated when I saw the signboard of the restaurant, but Kourtney shook her head and patted her shoulder bag. "I have money!"

I couldn't help but chuckle. I suddenly remembered how I had treated Casey to countless meals in the past, yet not once had she ever treated me in return. Even if I wanted to take her out, I had to send her gifts or transfer her money first. Otherwise, she would never agree to meet.

Compared to that, the difference was clear. I snapped out of my thoughts, but when we had just stepped inside, someone bumped into Kourtney, nearly knocking her over. Thankfully, I caught her in time and helped her regain her balance.

Standing in front of us was an arrogant-looking man who, despite being the one who bumped into Kourtney, showed no sign of making an apology. In fact, he muttered under his breath, "Are you blind?"

"You're the one who bumped into her. Apologize!"

My expression darkened. How could someone be this cocky after running into someone? The man didn't look old. Judging from his clothes, he was probably one of those with wealthy parents.

His hair was dyed blonde and permed. Even though he was wearing a suit, he left his collar wide open. He didn't look proper at all.

"You want me to apologize? Do you even know who I am?" The man sneered at me before looking at Kourtney. Then, his eyes flickered. "Such a pretty woman! How about this? Give me a kiss and I'll apologize to you."

The man grinned as he reached out to touch Kourtney's face.

I immediately slapped his hand away. "Apologize. Or else, you won't be able to leave!"

The man's smirk faded, and he stared at me coldly. "Do you know who I am?"
