I looked down at my Rolex, "A quarter past eleven."
"Oh my god!" She jumps and ran up the stairs.
"What's wrong?" I asked as I followed behind her, taking two steps at a time.
"I'm late." She said frantically.
"For what?"
"Work." She entered the room and looked around the room. "Have you seen my shoes?"
"Do you have to go? How about we spend the whole day together, getting to know each other?" I said ignoring her question.
She stopped and thought about it, "I can't, we have a new employee coming. Plus its late notice."
I could tell she was feeling bad so I decided that I wouldn't push her any further. "Its fine, we can just hang out later," I said making a huge smile take over her face.
LUNA ALEX
Because I didn't have enough time to go home and change I had to wear some clothes that Ryan gave me. I showered and got dressed, which consisted of jeans that he said had come from his sister room, a black t-shirt that was his and had his scent all over it. I couldn't wear my heels to work so he gave a pair of tennis shoes that if I didn't know any better I would have thought they were brand new.
"You look beautiful." I looked up at him to see that he was standing in the doorway.
I didn't understand what he meant, I looked pretty basic if I could say myself. He, on the other hand, was dress simply in a pair of jeans and a collared shirt and had managed to look as if he had just stepped off a runway. "Thanks."
"Ready to go?" I nodded.
Because he lived so far in the woods it took us longer than expected to get back to the city. Sometime during the ride our hands had come together, I looked down at them and couldn't help the blushed that took over my face. For some weird reason finding out that I had a werewolf mate didn't frighten me, in my opinion, it was more of a blessing. People wait eternity waiting for that one special person to share a life with and here mine had just landed in my lap. No matter how scared I was of the future I knew I would be okay with Ryan by my side.
We pulled up to the restaurant. "So I'll see you later?" I asked.
He nodded at me with a smile. "I'll pick you up."
"Oh, you don't-." I cut myself when I saw a sudden change in Ryan. "Are you okay?"
"Are you fucking kidding me?" He whispered to himself.
"What?"
"Please don't tell me that's who I think that is?" He was looking inside the restaurant. I followed his gaze and saw that it was on Lily.
Why was he looking at another girl? I thought I was his mate.
I frowned. "That Lily. I just hired her a couple of days ago." I eyed him to see his reaction.
"That's also my nosey ass sister." He growled out.
"That's as good as telling mom." His nose was flared and his face was turning slightly red.
"Sorry, he dropped me off this morning and I had no other choice." Ryan groaned and raise up the window blocking whatever else Lily had to say. Once she had noticed what he had done she stomped her way back inside the restaurant.
"It fine really."
"I promised I will make sure they don't come by and bother you."
"It doesn't matter I'm going to meet them eventually." I shrugged.
"Yeah, but I know how my mom is- I don't want her to freak you out."
"I'm sure she's not that bad." I reasoned.
"Oh, you have no idea."
Shortly after we said our goodbyes, I made my way inside. Melissa gave me a knowingly look that I decide to ignore and made my way to my office.
"So, how is it going?" Melissa said coming into my office and shutting the door behind her.
"Please mind your business," I told her as I sat my things on my desk.
"I didn't even say anything." She replied innocently.
