"Who?"
"You'll see."
He tapped a guy on the shoulder that was sitting at the bar. "James this is my mate Alex." He turned to me. "Alex this is James he was my guard growing up."
"Nice to meet you." I shook his hand.
He was a very handsome man. He was Puerto Rican and had to be in his early forties but it was pretty hard to tell. Apparently wolves stopped aging in their late twenties making it difficult to estimate a wolf's age. He was about 6 foot tall and had jet black hair, dark eyes, and a thick beard.
"You too. Ryan, she's beautiful." He complimented with a smiled. His seem quite familiar like I had seen him from somewhere, but I couldn't put my finger on where.
Maybe he was a customer. Or an old friend of my father's.
"Thank you," I smiled.
I stood quietly as Ryan and James talked back and forth. My mind was still on where I knew him from and I knew that I wouldn't quit until I figured it out.
"Honey, sorry I'm late. Meagan wasn't feeling well." I was so deep in thought that I hadn't noticed a blonde woman that had come up to him and kissed his cheek. With a smiled he hugged her and told her it was okay.
When she turned towards us I finally knew where I had known him from. He was from the Facebook picture. The one with him, Meagan, and Heather. He was the guy that had ripped my family apart.
"Alex?"
ALPHA RYAN
"What are you doing here?" Alex asked. While Heather looked absolutely shocked that Alex was there, Alex, on the other hand, was completely pissed. I had never seen her like this. I couldn't understand why she was so mad, Heather have always been so sweet. She even takes care of many of the foster children in the pack.
"I'm in the-." She pointed between Ryan and I. "Are you guys..." She trailed off.
"Mate? Yes." I answered for her. "Do you guys know each other?" My eyes shifted to Alex.
She looked to Heather before turning back to me. "No."
With that, she was gone up the stairs. I saw my mom's face full of concern, I mind linked her and told her I would handle it. I turned back to James to see that he was comforting Heather as she cried. People begin to notice what was going on so I gestured for James and Heather to return home and that we would talk about this later.
When I finally reached my room, Alex's bags were on the bed and she was in the bathroom. "Alex?" I knocked on the door.
"Please," I begged.
She looked uncertain and played with her fingers in her lap. After a few moments of silence, she had finally spoke up, "She's my mother."
For the rest of the ride, Alex refused to speak on Heather, no matter how many times I begged her to. We arrived at her place in no time. When I had gotten out the car to open the door for Alex I then notice a weird scent, it was a wolf but it hadn't been one from my pack.
"Rogues." My wolf growled.
I felt my wolf take over and he begins to examine the area while he felt no threat he was aware that rogues had been near and possible inside of my mate home.
I opened her car door. "Grabbed some things, we're going back to my house."
"What? No!" She shook her head. "I told you I was staying here."
"Please." I kissed her forehead. "I'll explain everything later."
She pushed my hands away, and I felt a whimpered leave my wolf. "I'm not leaving." She said each word clearly and slowly enough so I could hear and stomp her way into the house. Just as I begin to follow her I heard a scream rip from her mouth.
