I shook my head in disgust, I couldn't believe she made a joke like that. "Ellie that isn't funny."
"Laugh to keep from crying, right."
"Sometimes it good to cry."
Sometimes I worried about her, she's so afraid of being vulnerable that she keeps everything bottled up and I afraid that one day the lid is gonna come off, again.
She sighed. "Is that it? I sort of busy."
"Busy? Yea right, what could you possibly be doing?"
"I have you know that I've been really busy. I putting together an art show. You should come."
"Maybe." I don't know if leaving my pack was good at the moment, especially with the rogues around. "While I have you on the phone there's something I need to tell you."
"What?"
"I found my mate."
"What?" She yelled into my ear.
"I said-."
"I know what you said. How long? How come I'm just hearing about this?"
"I've been busy, and a couple of months. She's human by the way."
She paused but didn't say anything pertaining to Alex being human. "What is up with you and Lily keeping my out of the loop on everything?"
"Sorry." I apologized, even though I wasn't that sorry. She too had been keeping us out of the loop on what was going on with her.
"When can I meet her?"
"Maybe we can come visit soon."
"Yea, Noah told me you guys were coming down?"
"Huh."
"He's planning a pack retreat for all the packs to discuss the rogues."
"What? I've never heard anything about this?"
"Hold up." I heard her call Noah's name and a few second later he was on the phone.
"What's up man?"
"What's this thing about a pack retreat?"
LUNA ALEX
"Ready?" Ryan asked me from the doorway of the bathroom.
I looked in the bathroom mirror making sure that I was dressed appropriately. I was wearing a floral skater dress with a sweetheart neckline, and pink pumps. My hair was in its natural state and for makeup, I went with a dark smoky eye, and a light pink lip.
"You look fine." He said as he came up to me and kissed my cheek.
I took one last look at myself. Since the moment I had opened my eyes this morning I felt the butterflies fluttering around in my stomach. I was so nervous of what the pack would think of me. I was human and they were wolves and just like Lily said, wolves liked to be with their own and in no way was I a werewolf. But with the mark that bared on my shoulder let me know that there was no turning back.
"Okay, let's go."
Together we walked hand and hand down the stairs and to the backyard. There were tables set up everywhere, one of which had all the food on it. There were hundreds of people scattered around, some of which were kids that were playing and running around while the adults were mingling with one another.
Once they all noticed us they all turned to stare at me. "Hi," I said with a smile.
"Alpha, Luna." They bowed their heads down to us. Even though I had, had people bowing at me since the day at the first party I still found it utterly weird, despite me learning from Ryan that it was a way that they showed their respect.
Once everyone had gotten over the initial shock that I was really a human and mated to the Alpha, they begin going back to what they were doing before. Many of them came up to me, not only to introduce themselves but to also give me presents, this also being a tradition in the pack. I ended up accepting them, fearing that I would come off as rude if I decline them.
After having several different small talks with people in the pack my feet were killing me. I quickly made my way to the nearest empty table and took off my heels.
"Tired already?" Standing slightly above me was Lily. She was dressed formally like everyone else, in her yellow circle skirt and a black and white crop top with black stiletto sandals.
