"Yes, I fine."
"You sure." Melissa eyed me. From behind her I could see Lily sniffing around and seconds later a she wore a nervous facial expression.
"She fine Melissa, you should probably get back, your table is waiting on you." I could tell that something was wrong and that is why she was urging Melissa to leave my office.
Reluctantly Melissa left but not without telling me that she would be back to check on my soon. As soon as she shut the door Lily rushed over to me. She helped me take off my jacket before going to open the window.
"You're in heat."
"What?" I asked not sure if I heard her right.
"Once the female is mark she will go into heat."
"Heat? You mean like dogs do."
"Yes but no bleeding, mostly just being extremely horny. Don't worry though I've already called Ryan to come."
I blushed. "So is this a way to get us to mate faster."
"Yes, it is." She grabbed my water bottle off my desk and handed it to me. "Drink." She ordered. "Your mate is the only person that is able to calm you down from your heat."
I nodded and drank all the water until I was done. "I'm fine, you can go back to work."
"Ryan ordered me to stay here. When a female is in heat she attracts all males, even ones that aren't her mate. They won't be able to control themselves around you."
"Oh wow!" I gulped and suddenly felt nervous of what could happen. I wish that Ryan would have informed me on all of this otherwise I would have stayed at home.
"Yea, you're actually doing better than I thought."
"What do you mean?"
"Most females wolfs go crazy until their mate comes, I gonna assume it has to do with you being human, it possible that it not as strong as it would be for a female wolf."
A few minutes later Ryan came rushing in. "Alex, are you okay." He began checking my body for injuries, his touch cooling me down almost immediately. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you about this, I completely forgot."
"She's fine, but you might want to hurry up and get her out of here for things get worse."
He nodded and picked me up, holding me in his arms bridal style.
"What wrong with Alex?" Melissa asked when we walked out of my office.
"She's has a fever."
Melissa came up to me and touched my forehead making me whimper. "She's burning up, maybe she should go to the hospital."
"Noah offered for us to come down earlier so that I could see Ellie and she could meet Alex."
"I say that I stay behind and you and Daniels go. During that time, we'll have constant patrol going on, and strict rules on staying in the house." I was sure that he suggested this because he didn't want to bring his pregnant mate and at the same time didn't want to be apart from her.
"You sure about this," Daniel asked looking at me.
"With the rogues get bolder we have no other choice. We must keep all this quiet if the rogues find out they could use this to their advantage."
"I agree." Tyler nodded. "We should just get a few wolves to take with and otherwise don't let other people know about this."
"We're gonna need extra security for the Luna," Daniel added.
"Is it necessary that she goes?" Tyler asked genuinely concerned about her well-being.
"Like I said Ellie wants to meet her and all the other Lunas are going as well."
"We wouldn't want to seem like we can't protect our Luna if she doesn't go."
"Agreed."
"So it settles, we going. Daniel, you begin gathering a few wolves and giving them the run down, and Tyler you create a list of people that will be patrolling while were gone. I'll talk to Alex about going and call Noah to inform him that we're going." Both of them nodded before leaving my office to do their assigned jobs.
