Packing my things up I decided to leave work early. There was no sense in being here when I knew my mind was in another place and I was of no use. My mind had already been made up; I was leaving my husband for a stranger.

"You're home early," Mel commented as I walked in the house. Today was Friday and like every Friday he had gotten off of work early and went to pick Alex up from daycare. From there he would come home and cook dinner for us. From the smell of it, he was making his famous spaghetti and meatballs.

I was sure that Mel would make some woman really happy, that girl just happens to not be me, as sad as that sounds. "Yeah, I thought I would come home early today." He bent over to press a short kiss to my lips, there being no sparks or butterflies.

"Well, you're just in time. Alex and I are preparing dinner, want to join us." He gestured to Alex who was standing in a chair in front of the stove stirring the pasta up.

"Hey, mommy." Alex waved.

"Hey honey," Walking up to her I pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"Sure, I loved to help." I forced a smile.

Today would be the last day that we'll be the perfect little family, and when tomorrow comes I'll be ruining the whole entire thing.

How do you break someone's heart?

I asked myself this over a thousand times as I got dressed the following morning. Since it was Saturday my mother had come early to pick up Alex for their day out together, leaving the house with just the two of us. There was no better time like the present.

Looking in the mirror I could see what all of the stress of this situation had done to me. I had large bags under my eyes and blood red shot eyes from all the lack of sleep that I had been having. My hair was shredding, leaving long strands of blond and the occasional gray hair all over my Yellow sweater. I needed to fix the situation or this would be the death of me.

"Honey, you okay?" Mel asked me as I walked down the staircase. "You look a little sick,"

"There something that we should talk about," I told him as I lead us to the living room. We both sat down on the black U-shaped couch, moving so that we were facing each other.

"What is it?" He asked looking very concerned with my current state.

"What do you mean you met someone else? We're not dating, we're fucking married and we have a child." He fumed with anger.

Using my hands, I brushed my hair out from in front of my face. "I know- I didn't-."

He interrupted me. "How long has this been going on?" He stood up and paced around the room, muttering words of angry towards himself. It killed me to know that he was blaming himself for all my stupidity. James was just a stranger, I did not love him. I love my husband. I love my husband. I repeated to myself and I truly did wish that it was true.

"We met a few months back. But I swear Mel nothing happen-."

He stops pacing in front of me and sent with a glare that made me want to stop all that I was doing. To apologize and pretend that this was all some sort of sick joke. Unfortunately, it was too late, I was already too deep, there was no going back. "Save the bullshit for someone else. You fucked the man, didn't you?" He threw his hands in the air, angrily.

"I didn't I swear." I cried hysterically.

"You had him around my daughter?" He accused. "You fucking bitch, you had him around my daughter."
