"We should get home." Knowing that my mother was all alone with none of us there to comfort her made me want to leave right away. With my father dead, I was the one that would have to protect her.

"You can't leave yet." She pushed me back down when I tried to get up from the bed. "Let's just leave tomorrow, when you're feeling better."

"But-."

"No buts." She said cutting me off. "Dr. Leah is going to run a few test and make sure your 100%, then we go home."

"I need to be there for my family. Plus, I have doctors and nurse more than qualified to finish off Dr. Leah's work."

"Lily and Ellie will be here soon and it's not safe for you to travel."

"It's not safe for them to be here, Mason and his pack is still the enemy."

"They were worried about you and Mason is no threat to us. Alpha Noah is here as well." It comforted me to know she was not here alone but that didn't shake my suspicion. Why would Mason help us out when we've been enemies for all these years? The last time we saw each other we nearly ripped each other apart. Me dying would have only benefited him, the question is why did he save me.

"Where's Tyler?" Sniffing the room there was absolutely no sign of his scent. Still feeling the bond, I at least knew that he was alive.

"He stayed for a few days but had to leave because Avery is expected to go into labor soon, but Daniel is here."

"You've been okay right?"

I studied her to make sure she was telling the truth, "Yes, they're not that bad. Plus, Mason is the one that saved you." She pointed out making me become annoyed with her.

"Whatever," I grumbled out.

"At least you can do is say thank you." She said increasing my anger.

"Alex my father just died do you think I give a fuck about thanking that asshole." I snapped at her.

"Don't speak to me that way." She let go of my hand as she openly glared at me.

"Sure thing." Jacob offered to check on her tables while we went back into my office. "So, what do you want to talk about."

"First off I want to say thanks for looking after the place, trust me your paycheck will show my appreciation."

"Thanks, but please never decided to go on a spontaneous vacation with your super rich boyfriend ever again." She said overly dramatically.

"Promise." Especially with the way he had been acting I intended to keep that promise. "Did everything go well?" I leaned back into my chair.

"Yeah for the most part. We are getting a lot of customers nowadays."

"I noticed," I said referring to the pack restaurant that I walked into along with additional customers waiting to be seated. "Since I been away I don't mind if you go and take the next few days off."

"Thank god." She said immediately standing up and taking off her apron. "See you next week." She waved goodbye and left my office.

For the next few hours I served tables, it also gave me a chance to see how the newbies were adjusting and I'll say that I picked a really good team. Around nine o'clock we closed down and I let everyone go early while I cleaned the whole restaurant by myself. They had managed to keep up with the cleaning while I was gone so after an hour or so I was heading home.
