Sabrina's POV
The job of being a goddess has its perks.
The gifts I possess allow me to overpower anyone and win many battles. It has also afforded me hindsight, a little trip down minds of everyone around me and even if that little dip in to the mind pool can be draining, I know just what to expect with the people around me.
Josey tried to deceive me. It was obviously not malicious, just trying to save the man I afforded the opportunity to live again even after the many years he has been on this earth because I believe, my sister deserves all the happiness but boy is this man making her work for it.
Upon arrival, I could sense Cayden's presence and in no way was he a prisoner. He was not held captive and instead, was enjoying himself with a glass of warm amber liquid... bottle nearby. The men surrounding him where in no way hostile towards him, they were actually sitting around him trying to mask their fear but he can sense it. He feeds off of it even, enjoying himself as he basks in the pool of their feelings.
If anything, this was their doing and I still can't get in to his head deep enough to understand his end goal but somehow, I believe he used Josey to get to me. He may love her, that much I know but he is an evil bastard who knows only to cause harm... as long as that harm does not fall on his beloved, I am just another one of his targets.
"Stay there!" A voice shouts at us as we approach their temporary dwellings. We stop, looking straight at a rather chubby old man, aiming some gun at us.
"That is the weapon they used on me, to hurt me but it just hurt my vampire so I was able to get away." Josey tells me.
"I bet you are grateful to have godlike abilities now." I say to a seemingly nervous little sister.
I will avoid to look in her mind for now but the time will come where she must pay for endangering me like this, my strength is completely beside the point.
"I have always been grateful. I just appreciate it a little more now." She says to but we remain quiet as soon as a tall man with insane muscles walks up to us, without that special weapon.
"Follow me... no funny business." He says and we follow him inside, where a hundred men stood, waiting on us. Cayden, now chained up and looking to be out of it. What a faker!
"Welcome!" The tall man says to us, still giving us his back. I hear gunshots going off and they pierce through my skin, a stinging pain follows as Josey screams, the guns all aimed at me.
