Ours novel Chapter 24

Kane POV

The poor girl looked so scared but complied with the alpha order without even understanding what's happening.

"Alpha I'm going to give her a bath, the poor thing looks cold, and you kind of scared her," I say concerned about Nala.

"She could've been hurt, that's the second time she tries to run away while thinking we don't want her." Alpha replies

"I just don't think this is the best way to deal with her insecurities" my twin add in a calm voice.

"Running away isn't acceptable, go wash her Kane, give her something to eat then send her to bed" Christian adds in his alpha dominant voice.

"I don't know if it's wise to punish her" Stefan sound all of our concerns.

"She deserves more than to be sent to bed early, I'm still alpha and I get to punish my pack member as I see fit am I not?” Christian says challenging us all to object.

We can all feel the power in the air, since I didn't have a death wish, I simply nodded and went to find Nala.

I found her in her room crying, the poor thing. I gather her in my arms and give her a big hug and kisses all over her face.

"Shhh shhh, baby it's okay daddy's here," I say landing more kisses and trying to calm her.

"He's mad at me," Nala says between sobs.

"Yeah I know baby he is, you shouldn't run away like that you scared ten years out of our life." I try reasoning with her.

"I'm sorry" the poor baby cries.

I held her till she stopped crying and was starting to fall asleep.

"Wakey wakey sugar I'm giving you a bath" I inform her.

She grunts in reply and cuddles closer to me trying to stay asleep. I simply lift her and go to the adjacent bathroom, turning on the water. I put her on the toilet seat and start undressing her. She doesn't mind much anymore, being wolf meant we see each other nudes all the time, she's still a bit shy but not as bad as before.

When the bath is full I added some jasmine-scented bath bomb to it and help Nala to get in.

Her head is tilted back with her eyes closed. I washed her body and her hair with only a few objections when the water hit her face, disturbing her nap.

After the bath, I dried her and put her in some comfy PJ. I brush and braid her hair, I'm not as good as Kyle but I'm not helpless either.

There was a knock on the door and Jace come in holding a tray with some food for our baby.

She ate everything without objection, I tucked her in bed with her favorite teddy afterward and she must be too tired to notice that it's still early. She fell asleep right away.

Nala POV.

I woke up to a dark room and the voice of thunder. I hug Leo closer to me and close shut my eyes, I can feel a flash of light going through the room and another thundering sound. I'm out and running out of the room in seconds.

Not wanting to sleep alone I start walking toward the guy's room, I'm not sure who's the room is. So I close my eyes and try to focus on their scent. I found Kyle room and do a quick happy dance before going in, I so don't want to sleep with Christian. He's mean.

I'm slowly walking toward the bed when another thundering sound and I just freak, run and jump over Kyle.

"What's wrong what happened?" Kyle ask startled looking around for any danger.

Another thunder and I scream this time.

"Ohh baby it's just thunder no need to be scared shh shh baby" Kyle tries to calm me to no use.

I'm too scared to say anything so I just hold him closer to me.

"Want to sleep with me?" he offers me.

An idea comes to my mind and I lookup

"Where's Kane’s room?" I ask

I can see hurt flashing through his eyes but he regains his normal face in seconds.

"The next door to the left Nala," Kyle says but his voice was betraying him.

Why does he sound so hurt?

I tug on his arm and drag him next door with me, once I open the door to reveal the sleeping form of Kane, Kyle let go of my hand and turn to go back to bed.

I take hold of Kyle's hand again and drag him to bed with me once we get there I shake Kane awake.

"Hey, baby girl what's wrong?" he asks sleepily.
