I stood up from the bed and started walking round the room. If I don't, I'll go crazy from all the thinking. Brian went to meet Jason today.
What if he had the wrong pack? Or Jason did not believe him...no that can't happen, right? What if he forgot what I wrote for Jason and the rest?
I quickly searched around the room and when I found nothing, I breathed out a sigh of relief. He took it.
I continued my pacing, squeezing my hands due to how nervous, scared and anxious I am.
The door suddenly opened and Brian came in carrying a backpack. He never came with one before.
He came in and locked the door behind him and had a blank face. I couldn't read his emotions. Okay! This is new.
I looked at him nervously. "Did...did you find them?" I asked cautiously.
"I,I uh..."
I didn't wait for him to finish as I turned and bursted into uncontrollable tears. He...he didn't find them. I'm going to stay here forever.
I didn't notice Brian's hand on me due to my heavy sobs.
"Don't jump into conclusions. I found them. Actually, your letter really helped and they believed me quickly" He said.
I tensed up when I head that and turned slowly to him. "Y-you did? What did they say? Did they believe you?" I rushed out. If Brian wasn't beside me he wouldn't have heard it.
The second Brian nodded to my last question, I launched myself into his arms and started crying again.
Don't blame me, I'm happy. They are happy tears.,
"Thank you. Thank you so much" I repeated over and over again.
Brian was about to speak when the door bursted open. I looked up and flinched at who I saw. My uncle was there looking so angry I could see his face getting red by the minute. He closed the door in rage and locked it behind him.
Oh my gosh. We are doomed.
"I thought as much. Flimsy human always coming here. I knew something fishy was going on. Who the fuck do you think you are human? You think you can play the good guy and help her escape from here? No fucking way. Over my dead body" He shouted in anger.
I flinched and moved backwards slowly, trembling badly.
