Clear River Town, 4P.M.

The sky got dark sooner during winter. However, the streets were filled with colorful lights and fireworks during New Year’s Day.

Wilson was holding onto Serene’s hand while they walked on the main street in this tiny town. The black woolen scarf was wrapped around Serene’s neck. Even if there was the occasional cold winds, she did not feel cold.

There were very few entertainment areas in Clear River Town. After eating lunch at a restaurant at noon, they spent the rest of the evening back at the hotel.

Serene was struggling with herself if she should head home now.

However, her phone rang just as she was thinking about it.

The caller I.D showed it was her mother.

“Hello, mom.”

“Honey, are you done hanging out with your classmates? Your uncle hasn’t left yet and he’s waiting to have dinner with you tonight. Hurry home. Where are you hanging out at? Do you want your father to pick you up?”

Serene frantically said, “No, no. I’ll head back in a bit.”

Wilson who was sitting beside her obviously could hear their conversation. He intentionally coldly said, “Are you really that ashamed of me when we’re together? You still had to lie to you mom by telling her that you’re hanging out with your classmates?”

“But my mom still thinks you’re Chainer. We’re now a couple and it’ll be bad if she misunderstands anything. I want to find the right time to explain to my parents though.”

After she was done speaking, Serene squinted her eyes while staring at him. Wilson’s expression was still bitter. Since Serene had a knack in reading the situation, she immediately reached out her tiny white claws and started clawing on Wilson’s huge hand. However, her hand was grabbed by Wilson.

Wilson stared at her coldly while saying, “What are you doing?”

Serene looked up while winking at him, she said, “I am flirting with you.”

Wilson was speechless.

Serene had a naturally innocent look. Even if she was serious about using such a horrible move to please anyone, it would be very difficult for the other person to feel disgusted about her.

Wilson’s heart was twitching. He bent over and while staring at her with his burning gaze, he spoke in a deep voice, “Flirting alone is enough?”

Serene felt that she had found an extremely difficult to please boyfriend!

She stared at him with beady hamster-like eyes while nervously scanning the surrounding area in order to make sure if there were anyone she knew. She then hugged his neck with both arms, raised her neck to kiss him.

However, Wilson happened to be way too tall. Especially when the man was unwilling to take part in it, Serene was unable to kiss him!

Serene made several attempts but the man continued to ignore her coldly. She finally lost her patience, released him, turned around and stormed off furiously while saying, “I am angry now!”

Wilson smiled and immediately pulled her back. He was holding onto the back of her neck with his huge hand to raise her neck before lowering his head to kiss her.

Serene’s neck was sore from being raised. She closed her eyes but she did not enjoy that kiss.

She secretly lamented in her heart, “Goddammit, Wilson sure is tall.”

The man released her when Serene’s breathing became labored. However, he was still holding onto the back of her neck. He then pressed his forehead against hers while whispering, “Keep me company tonight?”

Serene blushed and said, “But I already told my mom that I will be home in a bit and my uncle is still waiting in my house…”

“I’ll return to North City early tomorrow morning.”

Serene could not bear to refuse him as she listened to his charmingly magnetic voice. However, if she did not return home, how could she report to her parents when her parents questioned her?

“Why don’t I return to North City earlier after New Year’s day, okay?”

A dim flash could be seen at the bottom of Wilson’s eyes as he said, “After I return to North City tomorrow morning, I will head to Italy the day after tomorrow.”

“Italy? What are you doing in Italy? When are you coming back?”

“Surgical research. I think I might stay abroad for at least half a month.”

Serene mumbled, “That long…”

“Yeah.” The man reached out to squeeze her cheeks before saying, “Let’s go, I’ll send you home.”

Although he really wanted her to stay by his side for a little while longer, if she was with him tonight, he could not guarantee if he was able to hold back his urges.
