Nadine was ready to endure anything for Sean!

Brad set aside his binoculars and toyed with a budding flower on the windowsill. A grin spread across his face.

Finally, she mentioned her son!

"Sean? He's busy learning chess with his tutor and won't be done for another couple of hours. How about you come inside and wait?"

He'd already noticed that Nadine wasn't dressed for the weather. He purposely left her outside in the cold for half an hour, testing her resolve.

It was sunny and warm during the day.

Although she wasn't dressed in many layers, the sun was enough to keep her warm.

But since the sun had set now, the temperature had plummeted.

Nadine was wearing a woolen coat over a brown turtleneck sweater. It hadn't felt too cold earlier, but now she was feeling the chill.

She was literally freezing.

Not to mention she had stood outside for over half an hour. Shivering, she stomped her feet to stay warm.

Brad's offer was tempting. Her pride told her to reject his offer.

But as the biting wind blew once more, she couldn't help but relent.

After all, she didn't want to freeze here for two more hours.

By then, she'd probably be frozen solid before even seeing Sean.

Or worse, she might catch a cold and not be able to get close to him at all.

Stubbornness wouldn't help with anything. She thought it wasn't the end of the world to give in once in a while.

Not hearing a response from Brad, he tossed out another lure. "It's not just for me. Sean needs to eat too. Just take it as cooking for him. Kids get hungry quickly, especially when they're growing. What if he starves?"

Before he could finish, Nadine cut him off, "I agree! But I have a condition too. After dinner, I'm taking Sean and leaving. You can't make me stay!"

Brad immediately agreed. "Deal!"

Less than a minute later, someone came to open the door for Nadine and guided her to the living room. "Mrs. Hamilton, please wait here. I'll go get Mr. Hamilton."

Just then, Brad appeared at the top of the stairs in front of the study on the third floor.

Smiling broadly, he smugly waved at her.

The living room was warm due to the heating inside, and Nadine instantly felt the comfort.

A maid handed her a cup of chamomile tea. "Mrs. Hamilton, please have some chamomile tea to warm up. Mr. Hamilton will be down shortly."
