Brad wondered why Nadine demanded a divorce.

She was the one who wanted to get married in the first place.

As dusk fell, darkness enveloped the land, leaving everything shrouded in black.

Streetlights pierced the darkness with their beams, bringing light into Hamilton Estate.

Under the dim light, Brad lay back on the sofa with his eyes closed. Outside, the wind howled fiercely, but the house was warm.

As the door opened, Brad opened his deep-set eyes and looked toward the visitor.

"Mr. Hamilton, we have a problem. Mrs. Hamilton has heard that Ms. Hamilton is being locked up and has come to see you."

Just then, the sharp click of high heels echoed through the hallway.

"Brad, what's going on? Gigi is your sister! She's your only sister. How can you bear to lock her up? What did Gigi do wrong?"

Upon hearing Evelyn's voice, Brad straightened up on the sofa, his posture rigid and commanding.

His deep and sharp gaze was fixed on Evelyn as she hurried into the living room.

Adorned in luxurious attire, Evelyn arrogantly stood before Brad. Eyes widened, she stared at Brad in contempt.

"Get them to release Gigi immediately!"

Brad suddenly burst out laughing.

His laughter was faint, and he squinted.

However, it lacked warmth. The coldness in them could send a shiver down one's spine.

She had intended to continue but stopped abruptly.

Amused, Brad watched as she became speechless. He slowly lifted his right hand, giving Evelyn enough time to see his wound before speaking.

Then, he said, "Gigi did this. She attacked me with a knife."

His tone was as calm as ever. It was as if he was talking about someone else's matter.

However, the coldness in his eyes was undeniable.

Evelyn looked at his hand wrapped in bandages. It was even stained with blood. Her mouth dropped open in shock, and she struggled to speak.

After a long pause, she finally uttered, "That can't be true! Gigi would never do that to you. Nadine must have slandered her!"
