Sean was everything to Nadine, and Avery knew that better than anyone. When Nadine was having Sean, she squeezed Avery's hand so hard it turned red.

She begged, "If something goes wrong and the doctors have to choose between saving me or the baby, make sure they save the baby. Always save the baby."

Avery smiled at Nadine. "See? He's smart. He understood right away. Just wait. He'll call you soon."

After telling Nadine that, Avery sent another voice message to Sean. "Hey, sweetie, I'm with Mommy. She really wants to see you. Find a chance to video call her, but don't let your dad know."

Sean replied quickly. "Okay."

"Don't blame yourself, sweetie. This isn't your fault," Nadine said gently. "You're just a kid. This is something between Daddy and me. You shouldn't feel guilty."

Seeing her son's innocent face made Nadine feel better. Nothing made her happier than seeing Sean.

She soon forgot her earlier worries and asked, "Have you eaten yet? Did you have some warm water? It's really cold, so no more ice cream, okay? It'll hurt your stomach."

At that moment, Nadine was completely focused on her son, Sean. She was just a loving mother, and everything else seemed to disappear.

Seeing her friend's happy smile, Avery decided not to interrupt. She went to the living room to have a drink by herself.
