Chapter 333 novel Please Give Me Another Chance, Mrs. Hamilton

As Nadine's bestie, Avery understood her well. While not quite a mind reader, she could usually guess what was troubling Nadine with reasonable accuracy.

Given Nadine's hesitant demeanor, Avery suspected it had something to do with Brad. Only that man could leave her feeling so helpless.

"Come on, spit it out. I'll have your back. Even if you want to crush Brad's balls, I'll be right there with you."

Nadine had no family in Janctera City, and Jennifer had treated her with indifference. Avery was her support, her rock.

Nadine was amused by Avery's words and finally managed a smile. Her previously pale face brightened a little.

"It's not a huge deal, really. It's just… I always thought Brad was responsible for Sean's injury, but it turns out he wasn't. I ended up not only scolding him but also slapping him hard. I think I might have been in the wrong."

The slap she had given Brad had been with considerable force. Even now, her right hand still throbbed with lingering pain.

When Avery heard that Nadine had slapped Brad, she was stunned. It took her a full three seconds before she could speak.

"You slapped Brad? Which hand did you use?"

Nadine raised her right hand. Avery immediately took her hand, blew on it, and examined it.

"Did it hurt? Does your hand feel sore? Let me rub it for you. Let me tell you. Hitting a scumbag like Brad is well-deserved. If he doesn't know his own faults, a good slap will teach him. You did well.

She agreed with Avery's point that Brad probably didn't care and that apologizing might be unnecessary and self-degrading.

After a moment's hesitation, she deleted the message and put her phone back in her coat pocket.

Walking over to Avery, she said, "Forget it. You're right. He probably doesn't care and doesn't need my apology. I'd rather not humiliate myself."

Avery wrapped her arm around Nadine's shoulder. "You've finally come to your senses. Let me tell you. When you're desperately trying to find excuses not to contact someone you love, it means you've already moved on.

"Didn't you want to completely erase Brad from your heart? You've done most of it. Just a little more, and he'll truly be a part of your past. Well done, babe! You're doing great! Keep it up!"
