Not all parents loved their children, and not all children were their parents' treasures. Nadine was a child who wasn't loved by her mother.

Her father passed away before she could even remember him, and Jennifer remarried the year Nadine started to have memories.

To prevent Nadine from following her, Jennifer once took her to the mountains, intending to leave her to fend for herself.

Nadine would never forget the scene of Jennifer abandoning her in the deep mountains. She had believed their relationship was over, that Jennifer had cut ties with her, and that there would be no further contact.

Jennifer had been pleading with Nadine for money, hoping that their relationship would compel her to offer financial support. To her dismay, Nadine gave her nothing.

Just as she was about to start washing the dishes, her phone rang again. The buzzing was so loud it made the sink vibrate. She checked the caller ID. Seeing that it wasn't Jennifer, she answered the call.

It was Travis calling to say that Adam wanted to see her and Sean, and a car would pick them up shortly. He asked where she was.

Knowing that Adam was probably missing Sean, Nadine didn't refuse and gave her address. After a quick tidying up, she and Sean went downstairs.

When they arrived at the entrance, Travis and the driver, Colby Hudson, were already waiting. Travis opened the car door and said, "Please get in, Mrs. Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton Senior is waiting for you at the hospital."

Nadine thanked him and got into the car with Sean.
