Nadine had no idea why Brad was in her hospital room. Sebastian was the one who had brought her to the hospital, yet when she woke up, Brad was the one standing there.

The moment she noticed the man's dark, brooding expression, she instinctively shrank back. It wasn't out of fear—she simply didn't want to deal with him. Nadine shot him a cold look, threw off the covers, got out of bed, and tried to leave.

"Stop right there!" Brad snapped, standing in her way. "Are you looking for Sebastian? Well, you won't be able to find him!"

Seeing her wake up only to immediately attempt to leave infuriated him. He was angry that she used him as a substitute and didn't care for her own well-being. What irritated him more was that she was concerned about Sebastian.

How could Brad not feel frustrated? She cared about everyone except him.

Nadine stopped in her tracks and looked up at the man who towered over her. Her eyes were filled with rage as she yelled, "What did you do to Sebastian?"

This was Brad, after all. He often acted without thinking of the consequences. Who knew what he might have done to Sebastian?

The mere thought of Sebastian suffering because of her filled Nadine with guilt. He had done so much for her already. The idea that he might endure Brad's wrath on her account weighed heavily on her heart.

Brad's anger only grew as he watched her fret over Sebastian. "What have I done to him? That depends on you! As long as you behave yourself and come with me, he'll be fine."

What did Nadine take him for? A ruthless tyrant? If anything, he was grateful to Sebastian. If it weren't for him, who knew what Nadine would have had to face?
