Those words were enough to cause the discomfort in Xavia’s heart to vanish… and shortly after, she was prompted to reply, “Thank you, Young Master Burton. You can leave with Chairman Harrison first. I want to make sure that I choose something nice.”

“Got it. Feel free to buy more than one set if you please,” said Zivon before walking off…

With how gently he was treating her, Rowena couldn’t help but widen her eyes. After all, when had Young Master Burton ever said more than two sentences to anyone? This Miss Lockhart was definitely someone special to him!

With that in mind, the second Zivon left the shop, Rowena immediately brought a salesgirl forward before enthusiastically saying, “What style of cheongsam would you fancy, Miss Lockhart? Personally, I can see you as the ‘girl next door’ kind of person, so I recommend you try on a pink cheongsam. The color will accentuate your youth as well!”

Though Xavia liked that color as well, she couldn’t help but ask, “Won’t pink make me look rather… undignified?”

“Of course, not! Pink is the color of noblewomen, and I’m sure you’d look wonderful in that color! Just so you know, several women of the past absolutely adored pink cheongsams! With that said, do try one on, Miss Lockhart. I guarantee that you’ll love it!”

After hearing all that, all Xavia could do was nod. Truth be told, her only criteria was for the cheongsam to be respectful-looking, and for it to be suitable for the festival. She, for one, absolutely despised cheongsams that only served to accentuate one’s curves…

Thankfully, Rowena’s cheongsams were far from vulgar, and they were extremely beautiful to boot. Because of that, the satisfied Xavia soon made her choice and paid the bill herself. Upon leaving the shop, however, she was surprised to see Zivon’s car parked right outside.

Since his window was rolled down, he was easily able to see her… and before she could say anything, the chisel-faced man said, “Get on in.”

This, of course, startled Xavia. What if she was discovered in the process! Unsure what to think, she quickly slipped into the car… only to realize that Sophia was sitting in the passenger seat. With the two sitting in front and her sitting alone at the back, Xavia couldn’t help but feel like she was the third party in this situation…

Because of that, she was quick to mutter, “…U-um, you know what? I’m fine with taking a taxi back if you’re busy, Young Master Burton-”

Disliking that, Zivon followed her out while saying, “I’ll walk you in.”

Once they were inside the building, Xavia was quick to whisper, “Young Master Burton, you really don’t need to care for me this much… Remember, you’re now pretending to be her boyfriend, so care a bit more for her…”

Upon hearing that, Zivon raised a slight brow as he replied, “So you’re aware that it’s all pretend. Since that’s the case, you should know that I don’t really need to consider her emotions. However, you keep telling me to care for her. Why is that? Have you been contacting Stefan again? Let me see your phone.”

When she heard that, Xavia instantly felt like vomiting blood? She was just trying to help him out here! How did it end up with him suspecting that she was hooking up with Stefan?!
