Sensing her disbelief, Zivon added, “At the time, I had been ready to terminate my marriage contract with Jenna, and I had even talked to her about it before. I simply couldn’t marry a woman whom I knew I had no feelings for. In the end, however, that incident took place, thus forcing me to take responsibility for her. It didn’t help that she had pretended that she was Maison’s mother at the time!”

Upon hearing that, Xavia was left completely stunned. That had been his thought process…?! Thinking back, Jenna hadn’t told her the whole story back then… She had only said that she and Zivon were getting along, and that they were planning to get married soon… Jenna had also said that if Xavia didn’t give her the child, then she’d surely jeopardize all the Lockharts’ reputations…

Not wanting to be chastised by the world, Xavia had kept silent for the longest time… but she didn’t need to. As it turned out, this was just another of Jenna’s elaborate ploys! She had simply wanted to make use of Maison to force Zivon to marry her! It made Xavia even more pissed when she remembered that she had genuinely felt thankful to Jenna, thinking that that bitch was helping her back then…!

Her train of thought was cut short when her phone began ringing… It was Dolly. Shaking her head, Xavia then picked up and asked, “What’s the matter, Dolly?”

“Jenna came over earlier saying that she wanted to meet you. I drove her away, but I think she’ll be looking for you soon.”

…Nothing good ever came from that woman. Still, she was thankful that she had blocked that bitch from all her social media contacts. At the very least, she could have some peace of mind… Shaking the thought off, Xavia replied, “…Forget her, Maison and Yulia have run off somewhere, and I need to find them!”

Zivon pretty much had the same idea, though he hadn’t considered baiting the kids over through a Facebook post… It seemed that she truly was getting smarter. Regardless, the heavy talk could wait. For now, they needed to find the children.

With that, he began driving… but even though Xavia kept her eyes peeled throughout the journey, she simply couldn’t find them. Upon arriving at her home, she realized that the piles of rotten vegetables and garbage had been cleaned up by those who had felt guilty after learning the truth. Cara was inside as well, though Xavia paid her no attention. Thus began the wait for the children to return… but even after a few hours had passed, neither of them arrived!

It was around three when an unfamiliar number began calling Xavia… and the second she picked up, an icy voice said, “Your children are with me, Xavia. If you want to meet them again, you’d best listen up and come to the old urban area!”
