...Alas, it was only a few steps later when he collapsed again. All four of them were quickly buried under a thick layer of snow… It took him some herculean effort, but Zivon eventually managed to dig himself out… However, the other three were nowhere to be seen.

“Dad…! Dylan…! Helen…!” roared the exhausted man in frustration. He had promised Xavia that he’d bring all of them home safely. That she wouldn’t need to feel guilty about their deaths! Sadly, it was now pitch black, and with the snow so thick, he wasn’t able to find them at all…! Even so, he couldn’t let them suffocate…!

Though his will was made of steel, his body was sadly not, and soon enough, his legs gave in… Was he really going to die like this…? Unable to even complete such a trivial task…? His train of thought was cut short when a familiar voice said, “Young Master Burton?”

Looking up, he saw the silhouette of a woman standing at the mine’s entrance… It was her…! As they said, dawn would always arrive no matter how dark the night was…!

Moving back to Xavia, it was almost noon the next day when she finally awoke… She had a headache, and her body was heavy as well… What on earth had happened…? As she was struggling to make sense of things, her eyes instantly widened when she saw Mark asleep on an armchair. What the hell? What was he doing in her room…?!

In the woman’s state of shock, she failed to register the three consecutive knocks on her door. Mark, however, was startled awake by that sound, and when he saw that Xavia was up, he was prompted to say, “…Just got up? Stay in bed, I’ll get the door for you…”

Unsure what to even make of the situation, all Xavia could do was nod with a sigh before straightening her hair…

To their shock, the man at the door… was none other than Zivon!

Naturally, Zivon instantly frowned when he saw Mark and Xavia inside… Especially since Xavia was still in bed!

“Y-Young Master Burton…?” muttered the startled Mark. Wasn’t he supposed to be digging for diamonds in Stroze? Why was he back so soon?

Xavia herself was equal parts surprised and overjoyed when she saw him.

As Xavia fell speechless, Zivon simply continued walking off, further increasing her stress. Shaking her head, she was about to run after him when Ian stepped before her and said, “Stay. Look, Mark only took care of you, but he ended up so angry. Do you really think he’s worth your time?”

The displeased Mark himself was quick to add, “This isn’t the first time he misunderstood you, so you two are clearly not suited for each other…”

It took her a while, but after staring at the two, she was prompted to reply, “…Is… Is this a set up? Did you two already know that he was going to see all this…?!”

“No, why would you-”

“Why would I what, Mark? Sending me home is one thing, but staying by my side all night? When there are plenty of people here to do that? How are you explaining that one, hmm…?!”
