...Was she seriously saying this to him for Zivon’s sake…? Feeling slightly hurt, Mar replied, “…Look, I’m sorry, Xavia… While I won’t deny that I was hoping to get a bit closer to you by taking care of you, I swear I never wanted anything beyond that. With that said, I’ll go make things clear with him first.”

Watching as Mark headed downstairs, Ian walked up to Xavia before saying, “Mark took care of you throughout the night, you know? Don’t you think you were a bit hurtful?”

Though she felt slightly guilty after hearing that, her anger was still greater, and she simply retorted, “Even if he’s innocent, you’re not! I’m sure you must have cooked this idea up, so once I’m done explaining things to Von, I’m coming for you!”

After saying that, she bolted off, leaving Ian just as angry as she was. He, for one, had hoped that Mark would get to spend more time with her. To think that Zivon would ruin everything by returning so early! Everything was going horribly!

Regardless, by the time Xavia got down, Zivon had already driven away. Understandably anxious, she immediately got her phone out to call him… and it was then that she realized that he had attempted to call her multiple times. In fact, he had left her several voice messages as well!

“Xav, are you waiting for me? Don’t worry, I’ll be home soon…”

“Xav, I know I tend to make things sexual, but please know that I truly love you…”

“I love you.”

…Though these words were romantic, they were clearly said when he was in great distress… Had these been his dying words…?! Now filled with grief, Xavia found it hard to even breathe… and it was only when Mark’s car stopped in front of her that she snapped out of it.

“Get in the car. I’ll take you to him.”

“Same here! I don’t ever want to go through such a harrowing experience ever again…!” added Helen with a shiver.

“…What exactly happened to all four of you…?”

“W-we nearly died out there…! Since we didn’t have any money, all we could do was either sleep in public areas or in tents high up in the mountains… It was extremely cold, and the snow was constantly up to our knees… Had Zivon not been a survival expert, we’d surely have died on day one… Regardless, when we finally found the diamonds needed, an avalanche occurred, caving us all in! I’m not exaggerating when I say that we nearly wouldn’t have made it!”

“Do you know how we eventually made it out alive…?”
