Moving back to Xavia, she had been planning to take him to the Gordon residence today so that he could meet up with her grandparents. However, just as she had made a few steps away from the dining room, she suddenly paused. Turning to look at him, she saw that he only had a basic-looking down jacket and simplistic clothes on. Though he still looked as prestigious as ever, she felt that this wasn’t sufficient if he was to meet up with her elders.

With that, she began pulling him upstairs while saying, “Actually, let’s get you in more formal attire first. I’ll help you coordinate.”

Naturally, he knew that he had no say in this, and as he watched her look through his wardrobe, he couldn’t help but feel slightly gloomy. What was with her behavior today…?

Eventually, she was prompted to say, “Alright… This black suit and coat fit your prestige, and so do these slacks. You don’t need a tie since that’ll make you more approachable, so… I think that’s it. Hurry and try this combo on! I’m sure it’ll make you look extra charming!”

Zivon didn’t really have a problem with her choices. After all, he was fine with any clothes that were clean, comfortable, and formal. Even so, he couldn’t help but feel baffled by how enthusiastic she was…

Was she… planning to take him on a ‘hike’? There was a popular movie lately that featured a woman pushing her disloyal partner off a cliff… Was she trying to dress him up for his funeral…?!

“…Where exactly are we going…?” muttered Zivon.

“Oh, we’re off to meet my grandparents. Though Brother and my parents have agreed not to continue making things difficult for you, we still need to gain my elders’ approval. Even so, I believe it shouldn’t be too hard to get along with my grandparents…”

“…Huh? But why?” asked the confused Xavia.

“Look, even if you trust me, the fact remains that I covered up for Fiona. With that said, you should’ve at least asked why I did that. Otherwise, it’ll just make you seem completely unconcerned. What’s more, I wasn’t even sure if you were angry with me, and… Anyway, what I’m saying is that if there’s a problem, we should resolve it right off the bat.”

“That way, neither of us will jump to conclusions. I really don’t want our marriage to be affected by misunderstandings again…” concluded Zivon, leaving Xavia momentarily speechless.

His reasoning was sound, so after a brief pause, she eventually asked, “…Then… Why did you help her cover up?”
