She couldn’t really argue with his logic, so she sighed before muttering, “…Fine, you’re right this time… I’m glad you did all that for me, Von! You truly are the best!”

Chuckling in response, Zivon wrapped his arms around her waist as he replied, “Save that compliment for after I’m done with you on our wedding night… That aside, since I was so successful in blocking her off, don’t you think your fiancé deserves a kiss…?”

Naturally, this caused Xavia to go red. Would this man never get tired of making innuendos…?! That aside, she had already gotten a taste of how good he was in the past… But she couldn’t just say that! Shaking her head, she quickly tiptoed before giving him a light peck on the cheek…

“There, happy? That aside, aren’t you hungry or cold…? Let’s head back to get you a warm shower first. I’ll cook you a meal while you clean up.”

Though it was clear that she was trying to change the subject, Zivon simply replied, “Sorry, but I need to return to the lab first… In fact, I probably won’t be returning to the villa in the coming few days. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to care for my health throughout this period. As for you… go continue sleeping for now. It’s still pretty early…”

Raising a slight brow, he took a peek in Xavia’s direction… and sure enough, she had just opened her WhatsApp. Before he could even see what was on her screen, however, she quickly lowered her phone in shock. What’s more, she even faced the back of the phone in his direction! Was she trying to hide something from him…?

It took her quite a while to reply, and Zivon couldn’t help but frown. Who was sending her a text this early in the morning? And why was she being so extra careful? In the end, he couldn’t help but ask, “…Chatting with someone?”
